Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

!!! Friday Favourite !!!

Iain Osenton is known throughout the local judo community as a fond lover of Ura Nage. We have seen him at many competitions perform this throw with some accuracy!

Ura Nage (back throw)
This is a sacrifice throw.
1, Wrap both arms around your uke'swaist from their right side.
2, Pulling in close to uke.
3, Then lift up and fall backward to throw uke over your left shoulder.

This morning, we were lucky enough to welcome Lydia, Emma, and Joli, the lovely 'goldador' puppy, to Beachborough!

We are launching a new charity initiative, to support Dogs for Good - UK and become a puppy partner. So, this morning, Emma and Lydia delivered an insightful assembly to the children, to explain what makes Dogs for Good so special.

A trained dog supports children and adults, who find everyday life challenging, particularly those suffering with dementia, autism, or a physical disability. Dogs can be trained to open doors, call a lift, pick up shopping, help people get dressed,

We had 3 fighters showcase on one of the biggest promotions going, up first we had tom_cheung_creasey unfortunately lost to a unanimous decision coming against a tough opponent but always has a heart of a lion and lifts his head up high and be ready for the next one.

Next we had willdragocurrie a very wrestle heavy fight once Will shot in taking it to the ground. The pressure pace and damage was enough to make his opponent think better of it to come out for more of the same signalling he has had enough quitting on the stall unable to come

13.3.24 - โ€˜Gymnastics For Judoโ€™ with Jess Gordon-Brown.

Thank you to Jess for delivering a fantastic class full of exercises and perfect advice. Jess was originally an international acro-gymnast before switching to judo. She was with us for many years, progressing to 2nd dan and again competing internationally. Sheโ€™s now focused on Olympic lifting and in Birmingham she won a Commonwealth silver medal. Suffice it to say, sheโ€™s a unit!

Anyone wishing to book Jess for any gymnastics or weightlifting masterclasses can message her via jgbcoaching.

๐Ÿฅ‹ What exactly are Rumbles?

Well, theyโ€™re uplifting, family-friendly judo festivals, where children can show their families and friends what theyโ€™ve learned in class.

We originally introduced them for children who are maybe newer to the sport and not quite at tournament or squad level. To give them the chance to experience competition in a more relaxed atmosphere and to be rewarded for their courage in stepping up.

๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿป Every child wins a medal โ€“ ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰ - and gets a certificate. And there are additional awards made on the day โ€“ for example for best throw or best team.

Today's Choice is from one of our seniors Richard!

Okuri Ashi Barai

This one is all in the timing, but when done right it looks amazing.

1, Make uke move to the side.
2, Just as ukeโ€™s legs come together sweep them out from underneath uke. Use the sole of your foot. Keep the movement fluid and smooth.
3, Donโ€™t forget to use your hands! Lift ukeโ€™s body upwards.

We are now seeing some real light at the end of this very long dark tunnel.
So here's hopefully some really good news for everyone.....
As Boris has said if the numbers of infections and deaths etc go to plan we hopefully will see a lifting of all restrictions on the 21st of June.
We are hoping, fingers crossed that the Marham club will open on Thursday the 24th of June.
Other clubs probably won't start until September but Marham will get up and running.
We expect to be quiet on return with many members lost but we will re-build! So please help sp
