Following our judo session with royalnavyjudo, Liam and Matthew took us on a very informative tour of HMS Queen Elizabeth.

It was great learning about all of the different features of the ship and how the crew work to keep everything operational. We got to get our hands on the navigation bridge, had a race on the flight deck and a quick game of darts too!

Thank you again to Liam and Matthew for organising a spectacular day ๐Ÿ‘

We are offering each affiliated club a Coaches Bag so that members of the judo community across Scotland will have a provision of free period products in their local club and we're delighted to share that 11 clubs have already taken us up on this fantastic offer!

Yesterday was Reece Calderโ€™s final evening as our Junior Development Coach at EdinburghJudo. Reece has been with us for many years and will be greatly missed.
ย
Reeceโ€™s journey with judo began 24 years ago when he first entered George Kerrโ€™s Edinburgh Club on Hillside Crescent. Since Billy Cusack took over in 2004 (when EdinburghJudo was born), Reece has been a constant figure in our club as a member, player, coach and the organiser of numerous social events.

As a player, Reece was Scottish Champion, a British medallist and a British team member on several occasions. He also won internationa

Kosei, whose home club is Sport Judo in Virginia, has spent the last 3 weeks training with both club members and the national team at Ratho. He came to train with Billy and the team as recommended by his coach, Maurice Allan.

Beyond taking part in 1-2 training sessions a day, Kosei has been exploring Edinburgh, enjoying social events and even fitting in a game of football with the team.

Kosei is a great person who gets along with everyone and he has fit in well with the group. Weโ€™ve thoroughly enjoyed having him here and heโ€™s alway

Some of our Edinburgh Judo players hit the mats this weekend at Saturdayโ€™s Granite City Grand Prix in Aberdeen.

It was Szymonโ€™s first competition and he did a great job throughout the day. No medal this time, but a good performance to kick off the beginning of his competitive journey.

For the others there were wins, losses and lots of opportunities to learn and grow. Thereโ€™s always something positive to take away from a tournament; whether the result is what you hoped for or not. How you win, how you lose and how you move forward are whatโ€™s key!

Congratulations to EdinburghJudoโ€™s newest 1st Dan, Finn T ๐ŸŽ‰

Finn received the final points required for his black belt back in March and successfully completed his theory exam down in South Shields at the weekend.

Finnโ€™s consistency and increased commitment to training over the last year has shown itself through his recent results in competition and now in achieving his black belt. We look forward to seeing Finn continue to work hard on the mat, in the gym and putting in the time to develop his judo further as a 1st Dan - the real work starts now!

Well done Finn! ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿค›
