It’s been a fast & furious morning here at SKK.

In a change of routine, the older red & yellows were first up on the mat.

James was first up & in a big pool of 5 & being the 2nd lowest grade, came in with 1 win / 3 losses for a bronze. He really started to settle in after his first couple of fights which showed as his win came in his last fight.

Griffin was next & after a first fight defeat, came back very aggressively to secure 2 wins & a silver medal. If his first fight had been his last fight, the medal could have been a different colour.

Leo - 2 fights / 2 wins for a gold medal. Goo

Now for the little’s (& Lainie again)!

Daniel competed very well in all his contests & showed great defensive work to spin out of techniques. Although no wins, he definitely earned his bronze medal.

Ryan lost his first 2 fights but once he listened to coaches advice!, he changed his grips to win his last fight & get a bronze.

Leon had a very tough 1st contest which was only decided by shidos. He came back to win his next 3 fights for a well earned silver.

Lainie had the opportunity to refight in another category. After several fights (we can’t remember if it was 5 or 6!), she gained 2 w

Congratulations to Oliver and Dylan who competed today, winning medals and earning valuable experience! 🙌

Oliver took on much more experienced players showing grit and determination, winning all his fights to earn his first gold medal! 🥇

Dylan showed his versatility and tactical gameplay winning one match with a show stopping ippon and another with a pin! Dylan only lost to his team mate Oliver, earning a well deserved Silver medal! 🥈

Both players do randori regularly in the club together and this contest could have gone either way! It's a testament to us all that both players in the numbe

First up was Tommy, who was in a group of 5. Tommy won all four of his contests picking up a gold medal for his efforts. Pulled out a very nice uchi mata in one of his contests.

Josh followed soon after. In his group of 4 he lost his first fight, won his second, then narrowly lost his last fight. Bronze for Josh today, but some good work on the mat!

Eli was on next and took 3 wins from his 3 fights, some great judo out there today. Gold medal for Ellie 😂
