After the recent National Teams Championships, we want to continue gaining momentum of the event's success and establish a more organised structure to provide young judoka with valuable experiences. This will help in nurturing the next generation of Area Squad representatives.

The following dates are training opportunities bringing clubs together and allowing coaches to network and support the Area Coaching Program.

But first, a huge congratulations to Martin for receiving his Black Belt!

In his own words, Martin said:

I'd never given judo it's credit, but after befriending 2 black belts, I started to see the benefits (ie, they'd dispatch of me fairly easily when we wrestled in the living room at home 😅)

I was previously a boxer, and what appealed to me about judo was that there was a gentle nature about it. You could protect yourself without the need to hurt another, even doing so compassionately. Turns out judo is an undiscovered gem in martial arts, so off I went to Chichester roni

Had a lovely day at our judo summer course. The judoka took turns in refereeing Randori, what different hand signals mean and lots and lots of different types of randori.

Busy Kids class for the summer holidays!
We've received some last minute entries to our Olympic Art Competition and so entries are now closed and the winners will be announced next Monday! Best of luck to all of the children who entered! 🙌

In our Adults class we had five Dan grades in attendance! Lots of valuable experience on the mat helping out our Kyu grades with their progression! Lots of technical mixed with randori, everyone will sleep well tonight! 😜

Last night 8 of our teenagers travelled to Luton to participate in the England Development Randori Session, hosted by rushjudo. They had a great time and a good scrap. There were 54 talented young judoka on the mat so cannot recommend a visit here enough!! 💪🏼💪🏼
