Due to a lack of judoka in her group she was asked to join the group in the grade band above. She faced 3 other girls who were all heavier and more experienced than her, but she still stuck at it and shown fantastic heart.

Incredible day for the academy

Yesterday the team had 6 athletes competing in victory combat in Cardiff

In the main event head coach Stephen Abberley once again submitted his opponent in the early stages of the match bringing home the victory

Brad Allen and Jed Lewis scored dominating decision wins over their opponents.

Holly Devall finished her opponent in less than 60 seconds with a debut to remember.

Both carwyn Pritchard and gavin Lewis lost their matches but have gained experience and we can’t wait to see them back in the mats

Another great opportunity taken or missed fight night at Welsh Judo Cardiff last night.
We as a club look for every opportunity for our players to fight outside of the club and this is our closest venue to home.
Well done all who made it.

More continued results from Saturday were had two of our competitors mocoles and hayleyvmma go down to Cardiff to compete on adcc_wales

First we had Hayley first match competing in the absolute open weight class unfortunately just missed out, however dominating in the women’s advanced division with both submission finishes coming away with Gold.

Then we had mocoles competing in the Men’s advanced division, winning his first match by points and moving to the finals but unfortunately just missed out. However always bringing the results and never shy’s away from stepping up.

We were coming to win; but Niusha lost her opening contest to a girl from Scotland, who put on a great performance throughout the day to take a deserved 1st place.

Niusha dropped down to the repechage, rallied with 3 hard fought wins against tough opposition to take a bronze & another medal at British Championship level! 🥉
