Another week another record!
Tonight's Monday session saw 18 Judoka on the mat which is the most since at least 2019 👏
It's fantastic to see how well the club has progressed since covid and it's only getting bigger.
If you have any friends/family that fancy giving it ago, why not bring them along! 🥋

A massive well done to Thomas on winning Judoka of the week with some fantastic randoori, throwing and explanations during technical demonstrations.
In the older session the award went to Ollie for also being involved in some high quality randoori.

On the 18th of May, my lovely mother will be walking 20 miles in aid of our Judo club. All Funds raised will go straight into the club and will hopefully be used towards a new dojo in the not-so-distant future. All donations and shares will be greatly appreciated and if anyone would like to walk a section, please drop us a message or speak to one of our coaches.

Judo is back on Friday evening with a full mat area being laid. If anyone is available to help get the 152 mats down it is always very much appreciated so please be at the club by 5.20pm.
The session times are:
Friday -
1st Session 6pm to 7.15pm for 5yr to 10yr olds
2nd Session 7.30pm to 9pm for 11yr to 16yr olds
Monday -
6.30pm to 8pm for 10yr to seniors
There is an Easter training camp being held at the club on Wednesday 10th April for 5yr to 13yr olds starting at 9am until 3pm. If you are interested please email Will ( willhickman5gmail.com ) for further details and cost.

As it's now almost December we can start talking about the C-word.
Our last session of the year will take place on Friday 15th December - which is the junior sessions held between 6pm to 7.15pm and 7.30pm to 9pm . We will hold a mini competition between the junior judoka on those sessions. It's your last chance to win a bit of Judo bling in 2023! 🏅🏆🥋

End of year newsletter (and almost as long as War & Peace!)
Well, that’s it for another year for Devizes Budo Club.
We held our “Devizes Closed” event on the 15th December which was well attended with some great judo on display and a few new stars to keep an eye out for in the future. Our annual Christmas party was the following night which was very busy with special awards given to several judoka for their efforts during 2023. Many thanks go to Brogan’s of Devizes who supplied some of the excellent food for the party.

Yesterday saw a busy evening of judo with 18 judoka on the mat during the first session alone. Everyone trained hard and listened to their coaches but Isobel was the one who stuck her head above the parapet to put in an excellent all-round session to became the Judoka of the week in the first session - she also was given a new Fighting Films bag. The second session was also busy where Noah was the stand-out Judoka to win Judoka of the week for the second session. Well done to both Judoka.
