Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

We hope everyone has enjoyed a glorious weekend in the sunshine. ☀️

This week Year 6 have their SATS week.
The Year 6 students have been working incredibly hard preparing for this week and we just want to take this opportunity to say how proud we are of every single one of our Super Star Year 6 pupils here at Hillfort.

As a whole school we ask that all children are in school on time this week and lunches are ordered, this will help with keeping it quiet in the school in the mornings and give our Year 6 students time to get focused and prepared.

Good luck Year 6 🍀
We all believe in you. ⭐️

After their warmup of exercises, stretches, breakfalls and cartwheels the junior group was split into two groups. The older group focused their efforts on transition into Newaza using various throws and transition as quickly as possible. The younger group used the safety mats and focused on Osoto Otoshi and transitioning into Kesa gatame. They carried this out in a round robin. Both groups worked well and produced some good results. They finally finished their session with their favourite game, dodgeball.
The senior group conducted their own warmups and then completed their breakfalls ready fo

13.3.24 - ‘Gymnastics For Judo’ with Jess Gordon-Brown.

Thank you to Jess for delivering a fantastic class full of exercises and perfect advice. Jess was originally an international acro-gymnast before switching to judo. She was with us for many years, progressing to 2nd dan and again competing internationally. She’s now focused on Olympic lifting and in Birmingham she won a Commonwealth silver medal. Suffice it to say, she’s a unit!

Anyone wishing to book Jess for any gymnastics or weightlifting masterclasses can message her via jgbcoaching.

A good session yesterday evening led by Tony which focused on the leg throw ouchi gari and using it to ‘open up’ uke’s defence to allow tai otoshi to sneak in. Here’s a nice demo by Alfie. Note the excellent use of the right hand in planting uke on the mat.

Huge well done to our members who competed on day 1 of the Kent international in Medway park.

You should all feel proud of your performances as you navigated your way through your respected groups with some nice judo both standing and on the ground. Generally the listening to the coaching you received was very good and helped you stay focused on the objective which was development and confidence building. Nice performance from Kai yesterday as he worked himself to his medal contest which he took with a nice left throw in golden score. Great to see Lucia back in across she worked on a specifi

This week the juniors session was missing a numbers of players due to school holidays however our diehards started their session with a warmup followed by stretching and breakfalls (Ukemi). Then they had a go at cartwheels, some good some needing a bit more practice. The technical part of the training focused on Osoto othoshi paying attention to hand placement on the jacket and also to foot placement. After this the juniors moved on to Newaza work concentrating on Osaekomi waza (hold downs or pinning) before finishing with a game of cat and mouse then dodgeball as a form of warming down.

👉🏻💥// THE FUTURE ♾

From a run down gym in the centre of Leigh, to a community building in the heart of Lowton. With a purpose built dojo complete with sprung floor. We have come a long way in a very short amount of time.

The last 6 years have focused on building the solid foundations of #leighjudoclub . Developing principles of good practice, operation, judo coaching and community.

If 2013-2019 have focused on #leighjudoclub foundations, 2020 is dedicated to building our home.

Over the last 2.5 years we have been quietly and diligently working in collaboration with architects and profe
