Vic Scott provided us with the ground basics, turnovers and guard sweeps with an incredibly powerful choke. The night ended in half an hour of newaza randori!

Today in Venray in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 our very own Scott Bailey won Silver in the European Judo Union Getting together Adapative champs in then Visually impaired u73kg Senior men section.
This is a massive achievement and a great result especially being an international result.
Scott trains Judo and conditioning 5 times a week or more and puts his heart and soul into his training and has made us all proud.
Please help me congratulate him on this incredible result!!!

First December session complete.
What a night!
We had awesome fun sessions across the board! We have also replaced our mats with tatami's with our Jigsaws gone, which makes such a difference.
A massive thanks to Gareth Latham for support on storing our old mats helping the club out on a massive way and for teaching his favourite technique tonight.
Well done to Rob Amson on his blue belt and Luke Preston on his green belt. Very well deserved.

Hi everyone
As we drawing to a close, we are bringing our Senior class a little gift next week.
My friend Matthew Newton is coming go deliver a quality NE-WAZA (ground work) session.
He is a 4 stripe Brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at SBG Crewe who has such a great style and is a brilliant Coach having been involved in his sessions as well.
We have collaborated Judo for BJJ with throws suited for BJJ rules, which to use,avoid and capitalise on before and he will now bringing some special groundwork techniques for our Seniors.
This is one not to miss out on.

Yesterday's Judo sessions were fantastic.
Good numbers, good effort and a great community presence.

Last Session of the year went off with a bang!
Sensei Kyle and our Seniors ran the session tonight with the kids and Juniors having fun and the adults having an even better time ha ha.
Our guest of honour was the Big G himself Gareth Latham Head coach of Sandbach Judo Club
We ended off with our awards ceremony where all our Juniors and Kids were awarded a .MJC medal for their great efforts throughout the year!
Our Senior awards were as follows.

February is here with a great start to month.
Our Judo kids are continuing to learn fundamental principles for Judo basics as well as loads of games and fun.
Our Juniors are learning to pair techniques together with combinations and counters once the techniques is learnt and practice... .and yes timing is the hard part..
Our Seniors had a good session with some ground work turnovers and combinations.
To attack from bottom position on the ground is very important...
Great work for all who came and participated.

A reminder (& info for those that couldn't make it this week) that the following 2 weeks' sessions (2nd & 9th April) will be slightly different, with the kids & juniors (usually 6-7 & 7-8 o'clock) having a combined session from 6-7.15, followed by the seniors from 7.30-9. The goal is to get more people involved in Judo especially for a child's development.
How do we keep them interested and engaged?
It's both the clubs and parents responsibility to see when they need encouragement or to train at other clubs to improve their skill level later when it there is a loss of interest.
Another way is by the parent participating which we have seen in a few of our players which has cemented the bond and love of Judo between them.
