Great Job Angie!
Congratulations to Angeline Ratcliffe for being awarded the Judo Alberta Most Improved Judoka of the Year. She had an up and down season result wise but she had some nice break throughs and most importantly there was an improved consistency in her judo. Angeline has always been a hard worker, she has always drilled hard, she has always been dedicated and gives her best in each training. Last season she had a record of 11W-21L and this season she 21W-11L record with an impressive gold medal at the 2024 U18 Saskatchewan Open, the Alberta WInter Games and fantastic Bronze Medal

Congratulations Christina!
Congratulations to Christina Karas for being awarded the Judo Alberta Comeback Athlete of the Year. At the 2023 Quebec Open Christina suffered a broken collar bone; this was a special injury in which the ER doctor said that “we only normally see this type of injury when a person has been in a car accident”. Throughout that time in the hospital and during her long recovery Christina showed determination, strength and displayed a positive attitude. When she did return to the mats Christina would only have one competition before the 2024 Open National Championships in

Congratulations to Jim Karas for being awarded the Judo Alberta Coach of the Year. The Kodokwai Judo Club had a nice season that was topped off by a great 2024 Open Nationals where they won a club record 12 medals. There were many changes in the leadership of the Kodokwai Judo Club during the year and Jim Karas kept the Kodokwai Judo Club focused on
