The newaza transition into a strangle uses minimal effort to roll your opponent and gain osekomi, but also opens up a strangle too.

Nekoda is an amazing Team GB athlete who we have shown her O Soto in the past. In her gold medal performance in the Brasilia Grand Slam 2019 Gram Slam, we saw the throw executed perfectly.

1, Controlling your opponent's sleeve, feint a hip attack
2, Generate the reaction to the throw and allow your opponent to Jigotia
3, Strike your opponent's leg of the sleeve you control in a sweeping motion
4, While striking with your free hand place it on your opponent's fo

Mae Mawari Ukemi (Forward Rolling Breakfall)

1, Tuck you chin in.
2, Take a step forward an transition your body weight on to the advancing leg.
3, Lower the arm on the same side advancing leg with your palm facing the leg.
4, Lower yourself along the arm that has been lowered following the arm to the shoulder
5, Continue the roll with a little push from your legs, ensuring your roll is across your shoulders.
6, Finish with your other hand breaking your fall by hitting a flat palm to the mat near your hip

Thank you to everyone who shared stunning photographs of the aurora borealis, taken from our Stag Hill and Manor Park campuses. The evenings junior session concentrated on gradings for four of our young players. Darcy and Margaret achieved their 3rd Sho and Jessica achieved her 4th Sho. Evan is working on his 1st Mon and hopefully will complete his grading next week. Then as whole the group demonstrated Osoto Otoshi, Kesa Gatame and the escape. They all demonstrated each technique really well and without any errors. They finished their session with the current favourite game, Dodgeball.
