Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

A busy week or so of competitions and hard grafting was finished off nicely with lots of new coloured belts on the mat. Our grading weekend, and after a few extra grades given out, totaled 67 new U8, Mon and Kyu grades awarded across all our classes.
Lots of new beginners have started recently, so looking forward to bringing through the next generation of Wirral Judoka.
Keep up the great work everyone. 😊🥋💪

Will you be enjoying watching the Olympic Games Opening Cermony which starts very soon in Paris.

If you are, did you know, the International Olympic Committee has 206 National Olympic Committees spread across 5 continents, and 122 of those nations will be represented in the judo event, that’s 60%, showing just how far judo has spread across the world 😁

And did you also know that 28 of the flag bearers named so far (23% of all the nations flag bearers) will be judoka 😊 How fantastic is that for our amazing sport 😁😊🥋

Can your little judoka tie their own judo belt 🤔

That’s a very important skill for them to learn, so any help you can give them to learn that would be great. It will also help them get ready for our belt tying challenge coming soon.

Get them cracking on learning either of the two ways to tie their belt shown on this video and then see just how fast they can do that for themselves ⏱️ 😁👍

Another brilliant beginners, basics and fundamentals session at Miramar Judo🥋

Everyone did brilliantly working through hold down transitions and escapes before going on to combination throws.

Judokas of the night were…

Beaudon, he’s been working hard for a few weeks and it’s starting to show. 🥋

Julian, neat and tidy Judo always working hard, he’s really starting to nail some of the throws🥋

Overall winner on the night was Hannah, although quiet, she’s got some great attributes and always does the techniques to a high standard 🥋

Every Olympian was once a beginner, that’s why we run our beginners basics and fundamentals sessions. We want as many people as possible to experience judo for themselves. Only a small percentage of judokas will make the Olympics but everyone who becomes a judoka, becomes a better person.

Senior player of the night was Farid, only a few sessions in he’s showing clear potential. 🥋

Beaudon was one of our juniors of the night for a second week running, he’s come a long way in just 8 sessions 🥋

Judoka of the night was Nancy. Crisp technique every time, another Plane on the judo mats can only b

Many of you will know our amazing Judoka, Darcie, Morgan and Zac. Their mum Claire was diagnosed with Cancer earlier this year and following surgery is now undergoing Chemo treatment. The Thomas’ are a huge part of our club, Claire and Gary have been supporting us on and off the mat and now it’s time to return their faith in us. Darcie, Morgan and Zac are fantastic club mates who’ve represented Judo Swansea with all the values of Judo and we are immensely proud of them.

Zac’s rugby team Dunvant RFC are hosting a Brave the Shave on the 4th August at 4pm. All funds raised will go to Maggie's S

The junior session was taken by Liam and during the warmup he learned a valuable lesson in instructions and interpretation when dealing with young judoka. The first part of the session was centered around Osoto Otoshi. After a full demonstration the juniors paired up and went off to practice in the form of Uchi Komi but without the throw completion. Eventually the safety mats were introduced and then they practiced the whole technique to completion with players changing partners regularly. Next was a demonstration of Mune Gatame and again they moved off to practice this. Finally they were show

Please can we make sure that all judokas on tots, Class 1, Class 2 and Adults have a British Judo membership. This is for EVERYONE - going forwards you will not be able to come onto the judo mat without an in date membership.

For those not wanting to grade or compete there is a cheaper option but for insurance purposes you still MUST have a membership.

Please see below the link to get a British Judo membership:
https://www.britishjudo.or...

Once again - if you do not have a British Judo membership then unfortunately, you will not be able to train.

For those signing up,
