Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

Last Monday we said farewell to Sensei Tony as he’s moving to Chichester. He’s been involved with the club since 2013 coming out of retirement at 60 to bring his Granddaughter Ellie to learn Judo 🥋.

He shared with us his passion for Judo starting at his local school in Luton at 13. He trained every opportunity he had and gained his 1st Dan at 16. It took him 3 years of practice to obtain his 2nd Dan. All his grades were with the BJC where you had to take a line up. No toting up of points in those days (1969)😃 Because of his job and family life he moved to the Isle of Wight where he set up the

For those who need transportation, a bus will be available and will depart from the Dojo at 8 am.

Well done everyone. Special note for coaches Jo Crowley and Luke Davies for supporting the event by refereeing too. It was a positive experience, good CPD to stand on a different side of the tatami now and again. Thank you to the London Area for the opportunity.

London Youth Games held at uelsportsdock with over 400 competitors. Many World, European, Olympic and TeamGB judoka have fought at this event as a child/teen! Big shout out to our volunteers especially the coaches/players who helped out to referee to make sure this event went ahead ldnyouthgames britishjudo #londonjudo bjcjudo

This week we got the excellent news that long time member, previously coach, & always good friend of the club, Brenden Hill was awarded his 1st Dan (black belt) at the BJC Cromer Course. 👏

This is a fantastic & well deserved achievement for a young man who has put so much into his training over the years. (A far cry now from the diddy 6-year old who first came to us all that time ago!)

This coming week he is setting off to follow his long term dreams, moving to the USA to be with his Grandparents in Montana. Please join me, on behalf of SAJC, in both congratulating him on his grade, and wis

Charlie won all three fights in a pool of 4 to take gold in his first appearance at this event making him BJC Open National Champion!🥇

Zac was in a pool of 5, stepping up a category from last year. He went on to win two of his contests and lost 2 (one of which was withdrawing through injury on medical advice). Zac placed third based on these results which is brilliant! 🥉

What an action packed day for our intrepid fighters who gave it their all today at BJC Open National Championships in Kettering.

With the support of coaches, family and friends and fellow competitors they all took it intense competition atmosphere in their stride and applied what they trained for. Hours of hard graft, sweat and muscle memory coming together for just a couple of minutes of complete focus.

In total Shudan bagged a total of 2x Silvers 🥈 ( Erin & David ) and 3x Bronzes ( Oliver, Oliver and Matt )🥉

Special mention to Phil who was competing for the very first time never stopped f

🥋 Another excellent day out on Sunday at the BJC Open National Championships. 9 Competitors in total, although 3 of them seem to have escaped the camera!

A hard event for some, but all showed good judo, along with excellent sportsmanship, and great courage to step up to this level of competition.

Sadly no placing this time for Isla, Dan, Sam or Ben in their categories.
David & George M, both in large groups, made it through their initial pools with some good wins and progressed into the final crossover pool, but were unlucky in their bronze medal matches, so both came away with 5th place - S
