What an amazing weekend for the club.
On Saturday we fought 7 young fighters at Felixstowe and I have to admit we lost more contests than we won. However, was I unhappy? No, the smiles on the faces of my young team said it all. The event was so friendly I am not even sure who won what medals, but frankly, it just did not matter. The team of Toby Jemima Julietta Harvey Amelia Harriet and Laurence did us proud with the behavior and judo. Fantastic work from our kid's class tonight, busy mat with lots of fun, but all of the children showing outstanding discipline and respect as well! Lots of games combined with technical and skills work left the children dripping with sweat and some big smiles! 😁🙌

Our adult class had both new starters and visitors, as we worked on mixing technical with randori, finishing with some strength and conditioning work. We also saw club chairman Dennis continue to pass on his valuable knowledge to our players before finishing with a surprise grading for one of our players! 💪🔥

As stated prior Evie pulled out due to no one in her age/weight to compete against.
Idris unfortunately had a head knock the night before and had to withdraw but still went along to support the others. 👍🏻

As the season starts to come to a close the games start up for the kids class! Foot sweep circle is a great way to work on sweeps and grips among other things.

The new Lidl at Meadowbank Retail Park opened on Thursday, with the support of some of our judoka, coaches and our huge club mascot Obi the Highland Coo. There were smiles all round as judoka helped to cut the ribbon at 8am.

Big thanks to Lidl for donating a huge amount of bananas, apples and pears and bottles of still water. Members and parents were delighted to leave the club with extra fruit, and children attending our holiday camp added extra fruit to their already healthy lunches and snacks.

Lidl will certainly be well supported by our staff and many members!

✨🥋🎉 Last night, we had an amazing time running Half Pint Havoc! It was a blast to see both our members and parents stepping onto the mat to try their hand at judo!

🤩 As the bodies landed on the floor after executing some sweet throws, we couldn't help but notice the wry smiles as it was followed up with a tight squeeze & a sneaky beep beep to the ribs 😂, going off the red faces and laughter it was enjoyed by all. 😄

BUCS recap! We sent 12 judoka to BUCS this year - a fantastic day was had by all, coming away with two silver medals and a bronze, and lots of experience and smiles. Last weekend 3 of our members travelled through to Livingston to compete in the Bonsai Kyoso event.

Well done to everyone that stepped on the mat to compete today, for many it was their first competitive outing. It was a great day lots of learning, smiles and new friends made.
