Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

Today I helped Shettleston Judo deliver a Nage -No- Kata course at ProJudo's Glasgow city centre dojo. As always coaches Alex, Paul and Chris put on a first class event. In addition to expanding our knowledge of Kata we helped raise funds to support Chris in quest for a second world title..

Entry is now closed for our event on the 3rd of March. We are currently checking all entries and will be publishing weigh in times soon. Anyone on our waiting list should keep an eye on their email inbox.

Attention for all our athletes who are competing at the Edmonton International, your judogi needs to fit properly for you to be able to fight. It needs to come to the bend of your wrist with your arms stretched out in front of you and your pants need to come to your ankles.

Like the pictures.

If your judogi does not fit properly you may be given a chance to find a new one quickly or you will not be permitted to fight.

A full on day for everyone but that did not matter to this group, as they all gave their very best and demonstrated some lovely technique.
A special thank you to Pro Judo for the use of their amazing Dojo❀️😁πŸ₯‹πŸ‘

At the end of the day after six hours of Judo, we were delighted to sit in on a exam for Peter McCann and Stan Shaw, who did a strong demonstration of the Katame No Kata.

You know a champion by how they react when it's tough! Ruby got a bang on the head in her first fight but came back to win the next two - silver medal for her. Dominik showed his fighting spirit and brought home a bronze medal. Tom and Micha did us proud but today wasn't their day. Hanna is just about to start. The seniors aren't on till this afternoon. Masters' probably the middle of the night!

Jole was next on the mats a little after midday - he was up against some tough opponents, including one fighter two belt grades above him, but gave it his all to eventually finish 5th. Well done!

They say a picture paints a thousand words, but this doesn’t give justice to the amount of effort Nathan put into his contests today.

Up against some really strong competitors, he battled hard but after needing medical treatment for avoiding a throw with his face, he got eliminated in the repechage but did himself and the club proud. His advice and assistance to the juniors before fighting himself was also very useful. Well done!

Entering his first judo competition since the Island Games in 2019, we were excited to see how Paul would fare in his first contests as a brown belt.

A close opening match which went the way of the opposition saw Paul drop into the repechage, where he progressed until the semi-final stage, ultimately finishing a credible 7th. He also gained his first 10 points for his Dan grade, and has definitely been bitten by the competition bug again.

Truly proud of all our competitors today!! All put in tremendous performances to say the least πŸ™

Very well run, organised comp which was superbly judged throughout ☺️

Some big wins including Joe's consistency, Joey's standard quick ippon scores. Henry's massive pick up throw!

Any loses came from much higher grades. But the performance from all was remarkable!

Great day for the team πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

Judo is known for its effectiveness in taking an opponent to the ground. Judo has its own systems of throws, trips, pins, and submissions to defeat an opponent.

Principles and techniques from Judo can be applied in various situations including MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Judo helps combat sports athletes more confidence when grappling on their feet.

Train with us here at KMA Fitness and Martial Arts Gym and expect the best instruction from qualified instructors.

It's Judoka of the Week time!
A massive well done to newcomer Stanley this week, who learnt some tricky ne-waza techniques and had some fantastic randooris.
On the older session it went to Lilly who did a cracking job of learning seo-nagi techniques and applied it to some competitive scenarios!
Well done! πŸ’ͺπŸ₯‹
