3 x Silver Medals ~ 1 to first timer Dorothy and then two others to Bastien & Serafym …
6 x Bronze Medals ~ 1 to first timer Theo, then 5 more to Torin, Benjamin, Amy, George and Dan
In addition, both Amy and George won their first 10 x points towards their fully competitive BJA Black Belts !!

* 2024 BJA Sussex County Judo Trials *
Not a 'bad day at the Office' for our small team of 15 x MSMAS Judo Players (both Junior & Senior) that entered this years Sussex County Trials :-)
Together they achieved 10 x Medals and Sussex County places !!
Thanks to all our Players, parents and friends who attended to lend support, really truly appreciated !!

A Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers; flowers (花, hana) in this case almost always refer to those of the cherry (桜, sakura).
From the end of March to early May, cherry trees bloom all over Japan as the blossoms only last a week or two.
In 2013 we were fortunate enough to be asked to arrange the UK Butoku Sai in Commemoration of 111th anniversary of Anglo-Japan Alliance. As a lasting legacy the 'Kuwahara Promenade' was planted and every year while in blossom we visit for Hanami.

MSMAS Autumn 2023 Karate Grading
Saturday 14th October saw The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School’s Karate Division hold its Autumn Grading at the Cuckfield Dojo.
This particular grading was busy with a large number of Students and YuDansha present.
However, the Grading paused briefly midway for two demonstrations from MSMAS YuDansha present plus senior Kyu Grades.
First, Sensei’s Paul and Charlotte demonstrated ‘Bassai’ Kata, a Grading kata for 3rd Dan then Sensei Carrie and Senpai Scarlett demonstrated Yakusoku Kumite (one step pair works).
Finally, those Students successful in advancing to

The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School will then begin to celebrate it's 35 year of training in the traditional Martial Arts of Japan.
In addition to a planned 'Celebratory Dinner' there are to be some very special Sessions with various guest Instructors in mind.

Once again this year at the Dojo we have been fortunate to have already received some Christmas cards, so would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone ‘Seasons Greetings’ and a ‘Happy New Year' :-)
