I'm trying to explain how I feel about everything today, and all I can say is that today's effort made me believe that team, family, and pure understanding is key to not just today but life. It’s not about me, as I feel broken, but what my club did today was pick me up. Most stayed, still work to do but I’m proud of everyone of my players, new and returning, the trophy wasn’t actually important to me but just getting ppl together and supporting each other. I’m very proud. #teampinewood .

We want to give a huge congratulations to Callum Jones and Kiera Bateman on successfully completing their 1st4Sport Level 2 Coaching Award.
Both have grown up and spent so many hours on the mat at Pinewood, and we are incredibly lucky to have them as part of our coaching team.. imparting their experience to some of our younger players!

A great weekend’s judo was had at the Kent International. Always a brilliantly hosted event, attracting not only home nation players, but a good contingent from Europe.
Pinewood players always turn up and show fortitude, resilience, respect and great judo, it’s always a proud moment when our players step out on the mat.
A good medal haul by a number of players, and some invaluable experienced gained by all. Success isn’t measured just by medals, but also by the lessons learned that we take back in to training.
Here is the breakdown from the weekend:

Some of you will have seen our post on Instagram... We wanted to repost a magnificent uchi-mata from Jack to take Gold at the Ciganovic Cup in Serbia late last month. 🥇🥋
Both Jack and Mariia flew the flag for Pinewood with grace, respect and courtesy, immersing themselves in a fantastic camp with top players from 11 countries.

Last weekend the Pinewood team headed up the M4 to the Bill Nobbs Memorial Championships at High Wycombe Judo Centre.
Our teams put in some great performances coming away with our younger girls (8-12) bringing home Silver, older girls (12-16) winning bronze 🥉and senior men also bronze 🥉. Thanks to Joe and the team at High Wycombe for putting on such a great event in memory of a legend of judo. #BillNobbs #judo #JudoFamily

A proud day for Pinewood at European Junior Cup in Birmingham, with some valuable lessons learned.
Charlotte stepped on to the mat with pose and confidence for her first international competition at junior level. Up against a world ranked Dutch player, Charlotte gave a good account of herself, losing to ouchi-gari.
Pulled through to repechage against a fellow England player, lost to a strong hold down. Great experience and on to the next one!
Unfortunately Jack was unable to compete today, due to stricter (and unclear) weight restrictions. Note to all players: In any EJU junior competition
