I have posted a number of videos which shows Kumo in victory but here is one where I lost all 4 contests. I found the tape in the loft and watching it was surreal. My memory of this contest is no more. It was like watching it for the first time. I cannot believe where the years gone. This was the brilliant Ipswich Senior Open in 1991. Yes I got my backside handed to me 4 times that day but within 10 years I would return with many a player that did not. Wonderful days, wonderful competition.

Millie and pheebsdealt with everything that came in their path fighting there where into the final. This is where a epic battle took place .
Pheebs scored against Millie midway through to only have the score removed after. Millie then scored in Golden score to deal the victory this was 5 days after fighting in Lithuania .

Incredible day for the academy

Yesterday the team had 6 athletes competing in victory combat in Cardiff

In the main event head coach Stephen Abberley once again submitted his opponent in the early stages of the match bringing home the victory

Brad Allen and Jed Lewis scored dominating decision wins over their opponents.

Holly Devall finished her opponent in less than 60 seconds with a debut to remember.

Both carwyn Pritchard and gavin Lewis lost their matches but have gained experience and we can’t wait to see them back in the mats

The Ely Dojo BJJ Team were back on the tatami this weekend with the UMAC BJJ Open in Milton Keynes.

Lory was looking to improve on his performance earlier in the year whilst Matt was stepping up to the challenge of his first BJJ Competition. Coach Jordan was running around the mats providing the coaching assistance.

First up to the mat was Lory who secured a very quick submission victory in his first match, followed by a dominant performance of passing and positional control to win his second and secure a place in the final. He was unfortunate to miss out on gold after losing to a very talen

Every judo players journey begins with steping onto the mat and for this lot is started at the end of in January.
We run an introduction to judo on a Sunday and from the shy bunch that they mostly were have stuck with it have grown over the past weeks into happy little tigers on the mat. A few wanted a match with our Neeson so he happy obliged 😀
Some have just passed there first Grading either Mon or Kia so as this was our last session we had some fun matches and a little team battle at the end kia v mons.
