Referees play an integral part in our sport, without them we simply could not operate competitions. Let's get behind this new group of referees that support our judo community.

Joe Rider, Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate, shares his thoughts on how a scholarship helped him complete his honours degree. 🎉 🎓
"I find the most effective method of learning for myself is by actually carrying out practical activities...I wanted to carry out my own electronic projects at home however, this can soon add up financially, but the scholarship fund enabled me to pursue these interesting projects without having to worry about money.
Suffice to say, this scholarship really improved my mental wellbeing and hence contributed to my successful completion of my honours d

Congratulations to Husnah Tarab, who has achieved two remarkable milestones this year. Just five weeks before sitting her final Medicine exams, Husnah welcomed her daughter, Yara Selene, into the world. Despite the challenges of recovering from a caesarean section, she successfully completed her exams and graduated from ARU last week.
Her journey was made possible through the unwavering support of her partner, family, and peers at ARU’s School of Medicine. Husnah is now celebrating both her new role as a doctor and as a mother.

Our annual Speech Day took place on Friday 5th July, where children in FIII-FVIII, families, friends, and staff gathered to celebrate the final day of the summer term.
Wonderful speeches were made my Mrs Mitchell, our Head Beachburians, Chair of Governors, and Year Group Coordinators, who announced the winners of many awards and trophies. We celebrated the endless successes of the children, and said final farewells to members of staff and our FVIII children, whose time at Beachborough has sadly come to an end.

We are so pleased to announce that Joe Glynn has been awarded his 6th Dan.
Joe has been involved in Judo for 75+ years where he has coached 1000s of children and adults. In this time he has produced numerous national and international champions, he has had incredible success as Northern Area Coach, winning the National Teams Championships on multiple occasions and even had the honour of being a GB Junior support coach. Despite all of these accolades, it’s the positive influence Joe has had on people over all of his years in Judo, whereby he has instilled the moral

A rare talent is our beloved Mr Francis - a fantastic embracing of judo, incredible natural talent, and a well deserved Sussex champion. It’s about time he got some colour round that waist! 🤣
Massive congrats and thoroughly well deserved 🙌🏽
