Congratulations to Cameron Hickey for his selection to represent Great Britain at the Junior European Team Championships in Estonia next month.
The first of many selections I am sure, if he continues to work hard with an open, growth mind-set.
Cam is now training predominantly at The Official Camberley Judo Club with Luke Preston, showing fantastic progress.

We've received some last minute entries to our Olympic Art Competition and so entries are now closed and the winners will be announced next Monday! Best of luck to all of the children who entered! 🙌

In our Adults class we had five Dan grades in attendance! Lots of valuable experience on the mat helping out our Kyu grades with their progression! Lots of technical mixed with randori, everyone will sleep well tonight! 😜

At the Don Werner memorial competition at Brentwood Essex we had just William in action. Two wins saw him progress to the semi final and like the Kent International suffer a defeat that left him with yet another bronze medal. It is somewhat bizarre to say I was more pleased with his losing fight simply because of his mature fight management. It may sound crazy but he did everything right other than win the contest but that is not to take anything away from his conqueror who thoroughly deserved his win and eventual gold medal. We do not have many players I am prepared to risk outside the Easter

This year we have created a unique identity for ICENI Taekwon-do, still promoting Mind, Body and Indomitable Spirit.

We have evolved the club and created a ‘local’ path for all students to progress to Black Belt.

Those who work hard can become Nationally recognised ITF 1st Degree Black Belts.

Once obtained, it is a skill for life.

Outstanding effort from the boys! Some great judo, some cracking ippon wins, and some fantastic experience gained at this well run event. A silver medal each builds beautifully on Pete and Grahams bronze medals that they won at the Sussex Trials earlier in the year. Very pleased to see such positive progression.

A good turnout this week for the juniors. They started with exercises, stretches, breakfalls and some cartwheels, all still improving. In the first part of the session the players worked alone. Adopting a judo stance with arms and feet they moved backwards down the mat simulating pulling their opponent on every second step. They then progressed this action to turning in on every sixth step to simulate turning in to throw. This was then followed by pairing up and going through the sequences with their partner, moving and pulling then moving, pulling and turning in. This was their first time
