Judo Connect

Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

We handed out 7 awesome certificates tonight! 🔥⭐

A variety of certificates which can be earned in versatile ways to ensure all children focus on themselves and support their team rather than competing against each other.

No one needs to fit in, all our children are born to stand out ☺️🙏

Great sessions tonight. Fun energetic class on the kids mat.
And progressive evening with the adults. Buzzing with some quality randori rounds 🔥

A very productive morning at Felixstowe Judo Club this morning. Well done to Emily Burrell completing her 1st Dan theory exam today. Great to see Ethan & Scott Fairburn attending their first Kirton Kata Sunday morning session. Both made good progress with tution in Goshin-jutsu, from Mike Bygate well done!
Alex Bevens and Sebastiaan Lensen opted to learn Katame-no-kata today and were also put on the spot to demonstrate the Gonosen-no-kata which they have worked on previously. For those that were unable to attend today, there will be another opportunity on Sunday 19th May.

On Wednesday evening, Joshua S in Form VII received the wonderful news that he has been offered a two year contract with West Bromwich Albion Football Club, to remain in their academy. This is a significant achievement, considering the competitive nature of professional football, and the club are delighted with Josh’s progress, recognising the huge potential that he has. Josh was told by The Head of Foundation Phase: “it’s exciting watching you on the pitch, when you drive the ball forward, we know things are going to happen.”

Unsure about entering the club competition in June?

Time is running out!

Did you know:

- competitions help children test the techniques they’ve learned in class

- competing gives children a goal to work towards, which improves their focus in class

- children who regularly take part in competitions progress faster

- a competitive environment teaches essential life lessons like how to cope with being nervous, doubting their ability and worrying about winning and losing.

- standing on the podium, receiving a medal, gives a huge sense of pride and achievement

A great Kata training session this week with players working on Nage-No-Kata, Katame-No-Kata, Kime-No-Kata & Itsutsu-No-Kata & making excellent progress towards their respective goals 👏🏻
We also had the pleasure of welcoming Mike Bygate, a Kata Examiner & British Kata Championships medalist from the Eastern Area, to the Kata session. Mike joined our regular Kata practitioners for an evening of working on his chosen Kata of Kime-No-Kata - great to see you Mike 🙂

Congratulations to Mich who completed his line up today, earning him his black belt! Mich had 5 fights and won them all by Ippon 💪🏼 ✔️🥋

Mich joined us from Cameroon through our University Judo club and has made outstanding progress since January.

Geraldine, another member from our Teesside University Judo club, also competed today. She won 4, lost 1 and drew 1, taking her to a total of 80 Dan grade points.

Mary fought really well despite being just 15, earning herself some dan grading points, however, picked up an injury. Speedy recovery Mary!

🥋 Another excellent day out on Sunday at the BJC Open National Championships. 9 Competitors in total, although 3 of them seem to have escaped the camera!

A hard event for some, but all showed good judo, along with excellent sportsmanship, and great courage to step up to this level of competition.

Sadly no placing this time for Isla, Dan, Sam or Ben in their categories.
David & George M, both in large groups, made it through their initial pools with some good wins and progressed into the final crossover pool, but were unlucky in their bronze medal matches, so both came away with 5th place - S

A great day yesterday for the club at the first Grand Prix event of the year in Clyde. We had Liam, Filip and Alessandro competing and I am extremely proud of all their attitudes, attacking judo and fighting spirit.
Liam came a hard-fought 5th place with 2 ippon wins (one in 6 seconds) and Alessandro left with more valuable points towards his 1st dan, experience and further proof that his journey towards 1st dan is gathering steam. They both showed maturity in their Judo and huge technical progression.
The star of the show though was young Filip. Fighting his first competition since a horror
