It’s been a full on few days and what an exciting few days 😁 Medals galore for our juniors at our club championships and then medals for some of the seniors at the British Masters Championships in Walsall at the weekend 👍

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped set up and run our club championship last Tuesday, we could not have treated the juniors to such an exciting evening without your help and support 😊

And thank you to Rich for taking such super photos 👍😁

A massive congratulations to Frank Gibbs who won a Gold medal at the British Masters 2024 competition on the 7th July U66kg, M6 (55-59 years). Very impressive.

Two full days, 4 x katas a good test for the body! Even on the HW sprung floor!
My body today feels just the same as it did after I used to compete in the Masters there many moons ago!

It was a long but rewarding day for some of our senior Shia Squad at the Kent International Judo Championships 2024 which was held at Medway Park Sports Centre at the end of June ! 🥋🥋🥋🥋

Bekzat took part in both the Masters and Senior groups while both Daisy and Yonas took part in the Junior and Senior groups ! Simeon was unable to enter himself but made the journey as warm up partner and assistant coach.

It was a long day with plenty of high level contests for all - with great displays of determination and judo skill along with some convincing ippon scores ! 🥳

Well done to all our Judoka who came this evening.

Our first session focused on grips and specifics on throw to hold.

Our Juniors focused on similar as our Judo kids with variations.

Our Seniors focused on the same with a higher pace learning to commit 100% to throws and have an offensive attack.

Highlight moment was the final of the Pre cadet boys team , with the scores tied at 3-3 it was down to TKJ star Mert to win Gold🥇 for the team, and he didn't let the boys down
Throwing the current over 66kg national champion for ippon in under 5 seconds 👊🥋

Then, on Sunday, Coach Peter took a fantastic silver medal at the British Masters championships 🥈
