Chokes, strangles and armlocks was the subject of this evenings judo session. We then finished off with randori and line ups. Good session with everyone putting everything into their judo. Shime waza (strangles) are a staple of new waza (groundwork) for seniors, failing to score ippon may open chances to submit your opponent. Today's is a simple strangle which is in the Brown belt syllabus for British Judo Association

1, From behind your opponent, reach your right arm around uke's neck to grip their left lapel
2, Slip your left hand under their left armpit and around the back of their neck, so that the back of your left hand is against the back of their neck.
3, Strangle uke by pulling with your right hand and pushi

Rylee up first few win and losses was in good positions on ground but unfortunately could not finnish some of his strangles things we can work on at the club. Bronze medal for his efforts.
Keiran had a few hard fought fights and another 10 points towards his second dan. Narrowly loosing his Bronze medal match
