Our adults Japanese Jujitsu class is going from strength to strength, 3 new starters last month & another expected this week 💪

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

Thanks to Kazoku Dojo for inviting us to the martial arts seminar earlier this year. It was a pleasure to teach Judo and a pleasure to learn many other martial arts styles, particularly the Wado Ryu karate which shares a Jiu Jitsu historical background in a similar way to judo. Lots of parallels drawn. Hopefully will do more of these in the future.

Easter course! Day 1 - Judo!

With a mix of judoka, jujitsuka & karateka 🥋

All have returned home from the Bushido ZaZen Martial Arts Easter Convention. And what a brilliant week it was. Arts offered were Aikido, Jujitsu, Atemi Jitsu, different schools of karate, Kobudo and Iaido and some Kendo practice.
There were trophies and grades presented on the last day.
Our own Brian and Amy achieved their Nidans (2nd Dan's) in Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido, awesome. And Amy was presented with the Malcolm and Christopher Sawyer trophy in martial arts. Dave also achieved a surprise 1st Dan in Jujitsu, mark sensei achieved his 3rd dan jujitsu. Harry achieved his green belt Kobudo

MSMAS Autumn 2023 Karate Grading

Saturday 14th October saw The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School’s Karate Division hold its Autumn Grading at the Cuckfield Dojo.

This particular grading was busy with a large number of Students and YuDansha present.

However, the Grading paused briefly midway for two demonstrations from MSMAS YuDansha present plus senior Kyu Grades.

First, Sensei’s Paul and Charlotte demonstrated ‘Bassai’ Kata, a Grading kata for 3rd Dan then Sensei Carrie and Senpai Scarlett demonstrated Yakusoku Kumite (one step pair works).

Finally, those Students successful in advancing to

Carrie writes: "So much fun teaching the kids class today. Yellow belts learning advanced kicks and stances whilst the blue belts drilled their basics. A bit of team kata followed by some kicking games emphasised the importance of control, strength, flexibility and concentration."
