Congratulations to head coach Dave Baldwin!
During a visit last night by 6th dan Tony Jones, chairman of the AJA East Midlands area and assistant National Coach, Dave was awarded his AJA 4th dan.
Tony came to visit the club to see what we do, then stayed for the start of our monthly randori night after presenting Dave with his certificate.

On Friday (April 5) members of our Wellingborough Neighbourhood Policing Team are joining partners for a community clean-up event on the Hemmingwell estate. Volunteers are very welcome, with lunch provided and an Easter egg for children too. The event will run from 9am to 5pm and will be centred from the Hemmingwell Skills and Community Centre. Hope to see you there!

Three weeks running they've done us proud!
We're still counting medals from yesterday, but more importantly, everyone tried their hardest and had a great time! We couldn't ask for more.

For the third weekend running, the junior students from Shudan Wellingborough Judo Club have been successful in winning medals at competition; this time at the Amateur Judo Association East Midlands Area Closed Championship, in East Shilton, Leicester, on Sunday February 4th.

A hard fought day today for Matty at the British Schools Championships in Sheffield.
Five fights, three wins, two loses with the last one going into golden score, and some beautiful throws along the way.

For the second year running, junior students from Shudan Wellingborough Judo Club have brought home the medals from the Amateur Judo Association, National Closed Championships, last weekend with one even earning the title of AJA National Champion.

Four Shudan Wellingborough Judo Club members are lucky enough to have been invited to a technical training event in Cardiff this weekend.
This will form part of our ongoing coaching development, and for three of us, will count towards revalidating our coaching licences.
It will also give us the opportunity to train and learn with judoka from all over the country, with top class coaching on offer at the Sport Wales Institute.

Great second day today at the PSUK Technical Training weekend, at the Sport Wales Institute, in Cardiff.
Some excellent coaching from Luke Preston, head coach Camberley Judo Club, including tachi waza and ne waza, and working from different grips.
We then finished off the day with some sightseeing around Cardiff!

Now time for some well earned dinner!
