Last weekend many of us were enjoying the Shudan Wellingborough Judo Club annual camping trip.

New site this year to allow for all the extra people who wanted to come, with a fair number experiencing camping for the first time.

Water parks, smores, climbing walls, meteor showers, and lots of fresh air and good weather!

Another great trip for our fantastic #Shudanfamily - those who couldn't make it, you were missed!

Thanks to Far Peak Campsite for accommodating us!

All our coaches are volunteers, but we take our continuous professional development seriously, and always seek to provide the best learning environment for our students.

Seniors coach Andrew, has spent the past two weeks taking a course as part of his day job, called Trainers Essentials Program. Although not specifically judo related, it covered many different teaching methods and styles, which Andrew will be able to use in his coaching at Shudan.

The course culminated in an hour long assessed teach, and naturally Andrew chose to introduce the rest of the class to judo, its history, and ev

On Sunday we had a nice relaxing end-of-school-holidays get together at Irchester Country Park for those who couldn't make it to the camping trip this year.

It was great to see so many of our members enjoying the fresh air in the local park, and even the sun made a late appearance!

Happy Father's Day, from our Shudan Family to yours.

For all the fathers and father figures, we truly appreciate your help and support, and hope you've had a fantastic day.

We've spent the day at an AJA competition, where all our members have done us proud....cant beat that for a father's day gift!

Two years ago we entered an AJA competition on Father's Day as a club, with maybe ten of our members taking part, and came away one gold, four silver, and four bronze medals.

Boy, have we grown since then!

Today, we had twenty five entries - many for their first competition and others fighting in two catagories - at around 200 competitors total all day, you could tell by the cheers that the #Shudanfamily made up an eighth of the audience too.

It was a very long day, with many of the kids fighting at the same time over all three mats, and sometimes even fighting each other, and I am so pro

Tough day today for Olivier at the Orange Belt and Under competition at Worcester.

Three fights, one win by ippon, but unfortunately two loses.

Whatever the result, we're proud of you, Ollie, for taking part and for trying your hardest. Well done! 🦏

And so begins the big spring clean weekend!

Thanks to everyone who stayed behind after class tonight to help pick the mats up. We're very lucky to have a permanent mat area, so we don't have to do this every session.

Shudan Judo does the Waendel Walk!

What a day! Something off the judo mats: our member's have been out and about the Wellingborough countryside today, taking part in the 43rd International Waendel Walk raising sponsorship money for the club.

The Waendal Walk attracts walkers from all over the world and includes routes of varying lengths, from 5km to 42km.

The Shudan team chose the 10km route.

The weather was great, the company was better, and the tactical placement of an ice-cream van just past the half way point was best of all!

A shout out to Ethan and Tina who've raised almost £300
