Beginners course starting July 1st

Based on the success of our previous beginners programs we have decided to run another through the summer period !!

For just £75 you will have access to up to 4 classes a week until the 31st of August! Two whole months!

As a bonus free rashguard for the first 10 spaces 🙌

All classes will be taught by our experienced coaches.

Classes will be Monday through Wednesday and Saturday mornings

This week Year 6 have their SATS week.
The Year 6 students have been working incredibly hard preparing for this week and we just want to take this opportunity to say how proud we are of every single one of our Super Star Year 6 pupils here at Hillfort.

As a whole school we ask that all children are in school on time this week and lunches are ordered, this will help with keeping it quiet in the school in the mornings and give our Year 6 students time to get focused and prepared.

Our Tuesday night sessions have became super busy recently and to ensure plenty of space on the mat for safe practice, we are implementing a waiting list for our Tuesday sessions.
So, if you're looking to join us, please drop our page a message, or email us and we'll add you to our list and contact you as soon as there's a space.

We do have some spaces available at our Ashington YMCA sessions on a Monday evening, and also our Saturday mornings at Newbiggin Sports Centre.

We want to celebrate all the women involved in Judo, especially within our club.

Last year our first ever female coach, Jasmin, qualified as a coach, and we also recently saw our first ever female black belt Rheigan get her Dan grade. Both will be at training tonight!

Also a big well done to all the other women in the club, particularly in our female only session on Saturday mornings!

SESSION UPDATE!

Due to our sessions becoming very busy now the early sessions on Saturday mornings (Adult sessions )will now need to be restricted to athletes over the age of 12 and with a minimum grade of 6th Mon.
However, should this minimum requirement be met, the final decision on an athletes participation is at coaches discretion. We understand this will be disappointing for some of our young people but it is not safe now for younger inexperienced athletes to be in this session now the numbers have increased. If anyone has any questions please speak to our H&S advisor Aaron who is avai

SAMBO MORNINGS

Every Sat 9:30-10:45 we train Sambo. A great sport, martial art, and self defense system.

Glenn today spent some time discussing sambo rules (sport), how they differ from judo (martial art), partly because of the way sambo was originally designed (self-defense).

It's a new club, so we have between 6-12 athletes on the mat.
