What a busy week at the club:
2 Saturdays, 2 1st Dan presentations! Congratulations to Connie & Arran who both received confirmation from British Judo that they have achieved the amazing milestone of the black belt. Both have been learning judo for over 10 years and this achievement is a credit to their commitment.
Connie also completed her practical session as part of the Level 1 Coach qualification, and then rounded the week of by receiving news that she had been selected to represent Scotland at the National Team Championships in July!
Not to be kept quiet, a group of the younger members

We regret to announce the cancellation of our upcoming Keizoku event scheduled for June 2nd. After careful consideration, we've determined that the response has been lower than anticipated, making it financially unfeasible to proceed.
While this decision is disappointing, please know that it's not the end of our commitment to providing engaging experiences for our young judoka. We already have another Keizoku planned for 23rd November.

The club were privileged to support Midlothian CLLE and Active Schools yesterday with a judo session for young people and their parents at The Lasswade Centre. A huge thanks to coach David for the delivery, Demi for arranging and Midlothian Active Schools for the opportunity👍🏻👏🏻

We hope everyone had an enjoyable summer holiday or at least feel a little rested and ready to hit the ground running after the summer.

Enjoyed a great days judo yesterday at the Hibari Kan Grand Prix. Lots of much needed contests for judoka, Leah doubling up on the tables on timekeeping duty and Martin Refereeing.
Loved the tweaks to the format that kept the event flowing - great job 👍🏻
A huge thanks to the army of volunteers from Hibari Kan Judo Club who alongside all the officials made the day happen 👏🏻

Hello Team,
Just wanted to confirm that judo will be going ahead this evening.
Thank you to those who reached out to check-in with Lasswade currently not having heating.
We have been advised that the gym hall is still available for us to use. If you are going to be sitting at the side it may be recommended to have a warm jacket and jumper. Everyone else on the mat will keep warm with lots of movement.

Easter Update!
Due to people taking time to spend with family and friends. Making the most of their time off we often find a slight dip in numbers over the holiday periods. To ensure everyone still has an opportunity to take part in our session we reduce our classes down to one session.
Please see below.
We hope you all have a lovely break when it comes and we can't wait to see those who can still make it onto the mat!
P.S. We advise that chocolate eggs be eaten after judo......
