Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

Patrick, AKA “Paddy the Baddy”, gained the final 20 points required for his black belt at the Clyde Grand Prix event last Sunday.

Patrick completed his 1st Dan theory over a year ago and recently started competing again, taking bronze in the -73KG category after a good day of contests at the Clyde Grand Prix.

Over the last few months Patrick‘s judo has been developing through consistent training and putting his all into every session. He is a great competitor, speaks to his opponents whether he wins or loses and is very responsive to mat side coaching.

Patrick is now looking forward to c

Brilliant effort from all of our seniors on Friday, covering Sangaku Jime and a driving O Uchi Gari (with the aid of the crash mats so we could really finish those throws off 😆)

See you all again next Friday where we will be starting to work on some theory with the intention of getting some Gradings done 😁👍

The 6 hours Young/Youth Coaching Development Course was held on Saturday 20th April. They covered the requirements of basic coaching both in theory and in practice. They now have to progress through year 1 development from their coaching course folder and take an assessment at the end of each month. On successful completion of year 1 theory and practise they will have to attend the Year 2 coaching course next April. Here are some of the photos from the course.

It’s a proud moment in EVERY judokas journey to achieve your black belt.
.
A number of people start this journey yet so little actually achieve it!!!! Takes self motivation, determination, sweat, bumps and bruises along the way.
.
it gives me great pleasure to welcome two more DAN Grades to #pudseyjudoclub … big up to both Colin and George who both accumulated 100 points competitively and passed their theory to join the club 🥋🥋.
.
The hard work starts now! Well done gents 💪👍🍺

A big "WELL DONE" to the 7 judoka who attended our 3 hour introduction into coaching course. We covered a lot of detail both theory and practise as well as what is and what will be expected from you on the coaching pathway at the Academy.

The only down side was that the seniors who had their names down for weeks to attend decided not to show.

Huge congratulations to EdinburghJudo’s newest 1st Dan, Ethan, he successfully completed his line up yesterday at the JudoScotland National Kyu and Dan Grading in Ravenscraig. Having already passed the theory exam he can officially wear his black belt with pride.

Both Aidan and Gregorz also won their line ups with some lovely judo, these guys now need to complete the theory side before we see them on the mat with their new belts.

Great effort from Archie, Ash, Dan, Evan, Josh, Kirsty and Patrick with both points and valuable experience gained on their journeys to becoming black belts.

Massive well done to Dot and Dave for having completed all their theory and katas in order to move to black belts next year. The reason for the wait is because non competitive judoka must have a minimum of 5 years as brown belts.

However, this is no easy task at any age and as many of you know, there have been many 1-1s and Zoom sessions in order to get to this point.

Dot took up the sport at 70 years old after accompanying her grandson to a session in Corton, while Dave was just a random painter at Dominic’s house who got chatting once he saw the trailer in the driveway.

Congratulations to Tomas & Matus passing their theory for the Club referee and also to Sensei Jamil for his Area referee level. Sensei Graham was one of the course leaders 🥋💪👨‍⚖️

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

Well done to Octobers Judoka of the Month - Jesse!

Jesse started the with us last year, but had a period of time out over the spring/summer after picking up an injury. Since returning after the summer Jesse has been very consistent with his training and improving week on week. His confidence has grown and he nailed his theory today at the gradings, gaining his 6th Kyu!

Congratulations Jesse, keep up the good work!
