Huge congratulations to Dan eltorero1979 on his (belated) award for runner up in the Adult Improvement of the Year.
We give out the awards in January for the previous year, however Dan got injured literally the session before and has been out rehabbing since! We’re glad he’s fully healed and looking forward to seeing him more regularly!

Pudsey Judo Club Juniors travelled to SKK Judo Club today.
For some it was their first ever competition for others a first this year.
Super proud as 8 judoka went and 8 came back with a medal - but more importantly valuable lessons learnt.

Pudsey Judo club had 4 competitors AND ALL 4 medalled. Tom Deniz gets a Silver Medal 🥈 in the -66kg and Oliver Bigger gets a bronze medal 🥉 in the -55kg category.

However a huge PJC shout out needs to go to Jack and Lizzie after an amazing day competing at this level - a national open event. Jack getting a Silver Medal 🥈 and Lizzie getting a bronze medal 🥉 competing for the first time at this level.

As we say farewell to #EuropeanJudo Berlin cadet european cup. I am taking stock of the last 36 hours. The organisation and hospitality has been great and couldn't be smoother. 800 entrants 34 nations. In Tom's group we had 80 World class athletes. The level of Judo is simply incredible. To compete at this level requires dedication, focus, a desire to win and huge support. To win 3 fights at this level is amazing. Let's remember he only lost to the gold and bronze medalists. Both Azerbaijan and more mature. He's done enough for European Championships selection but there may be things to consid

Day One Complete at the British Schools National Judo Championships in Sheffield.
Arlo arlo_caldwell_ac up first in the -66kg category and in round one probably “got throw of the day” and progressing nicely. Wazari up in the next contest and unfortunately, eventually getting caught on the ground in the newaza. Great experience to build on for the next one. Good work Arlo.
Next up Ollie ollie.bigger in the -55kg category (2 sheets - big section) had to come from a wazari down in the 1st round against a good friend to battle through and get the victory. Progressed nicely through all the rou

Tom Vo up first in the -34kg in his first national level event. Fought tremendously well winning 3 and losing one, and dropping into the repecharge and reaching the crossover. Then to go into golden score in his next contest and getting caught to the bronze medalist.

Jack Deniz up next in the -38kg and got off to a great start in a hugely contested category (27 players) winning two and losing one was enough to put Jack in the crossover…. A lapse of concentration after being a wazari up and just getting caught means it was th

Completing a fab weekend of judo for Pudsey Judo Club , Tom Deniz arrives home after a few days away with Team GB in Porec Croatia.

With 64 in his category Tom had a great event reaching round 4 only to then lose on golden score to one of the seeded players.
.
Unfortunately for Tom (he must of tired his opponent out) as he then lost the quarter final contests meaning Tom didn’t drop into the repecharge.
