Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

The junior session, as always, started with a warmup followed some stretching and their breakfalls before having another go at cartwheels. Still needs work!! The technical section of the evening took the form of grading preparation for 1st, 2nd and 3 Sho also for 1st Mon. This covered Osoto otoshi into Kesa gatame and the escape. These techniques were demonstrated by each pair at the end of their session. It was noted though that more practice is required on tying belts (Obi) and the Japanese/English terminology. Finally they finished off with some Newaza changes and a game of dodgeball.

The juniors started their evening with a warmup followed by some stretching and then breakfalls. They finished off with further attempts of cartwheels. All the players then took part in the 1st Mon syllabus, Osoto Otoshi, Kesa gatame and the escape also the relevant terminology. After some hard work and tough testing our successful players were: Tumas and Matis promoted to 1st Mon, Jessica promoted to 3rd Sho, Darcy and Margaret promoted to 2nd Sho and Ellie to 1st Sho. Many congratulations and well done on your hard work and efforts. Other players were not quite ready yet but after some mo

Welcome to 2024 and we hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. We had a good turnout of juniors and after a steady warmup, some stretching and breakfalls they got into their session. This took the form of a round robin of Tachiwaza, different ages and sizes all working together which took up most of the session. They also worked on mat etiquette particularly for competitions, bowing on/off the mat, referee’s terminology and importantly when to and not to release your opponent!!

After the senior warmup and to get back into the swing of things they practiced moving around the mat area

After their warmup , stretching and breakfalls the junior session started with a demonstration of Tai Otoshi. The juniors were then paired off and went to practice. After a few changes they then went into some randori using competition rules and referee terminology to practice the throw in a competition environment. After a water break they began practicing transition into hold downs using Ogoshi into Kesa Gatame or Kuzushi Kesa Gatame then another round of randori as previously. The session finished with a game of crab football. A great effort from all the juniors and improvement was noticed

We are hoping to hold a grading in June, if you wish to attend the following criteria must be met.
You must have a valid judo license, not a provisional.
Your license must be in date.
Have a good knowledge of the grade you want to achieve.
A good understanding of the techniques and terminology.
All judokas should have a theory book, if they don’t have one then speak to the coaches.

It's a bit late, because I'm unorganised, but massive congratulations to our Judoka of the month for February!

Hunter from our Dragons and Judo Tots session has only been with us a short while, but has come on leaps and bounds!

Luke from our Junior session was awarded for his hard work, dedication, terminology knowledge and every session is done with a smile!

Well done kids! 💪👏🥳
