Massive congratulations to Jake and Joe, who were only graded to 1st Kyu in July, both won their line ups today to achieve the goal of 'Black Belt'.🥋
A great big well done to Sharon who had 6 tough fights against higher grades. No points today, but she is getting better every time she steps on the mat. The points will come and the new belt with it.
Keep working hard snd believe in yourself.👏🥋💪

Today the club is 3 years old.
No big song and dance this year, the next major milestone will be 5 years!
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been part of this club. Past and present. To everyone that has helped in anyway in the development of the club. Coaches, students and the many favours I have called in to make the club what you see today.
The growth of the club has been nothing short of amazing, there is no other club in the UK that has grown at the rate we have in such a short space of time.

We are looking forward to presenting the winners of our Olympic Art Competition! 🥉🥈🥇
We wanted to give the children something to do in the summer that didn't involve sitting inside on a tablet or in front of a screen, and we have had some fantastic entries and have been blown away by the response! 🤯
We believe that the benefits of Judo extend far beyond the confides of the dojo. Seeing the children take the time to create these hand drawn masterpieces on what Judo means to them has been deeply humbling and enjoyable to witness!
The winners will receive certificates and our first place entry

I was honoured to be a Coach for three of my Adaptive competitors that took part in the prestigious European Judo Union Tournament July 2024 held in Swansea, Wales. Quite a daunting trip for our players who have Autism and ADHD and are happier at our home club. Kagan is our experienced competitor with Siobhan having a little experience and Scott never having competed before. Kagan is our youngest at 12 years. I'm trying to explain how I feel about everything today, and all I can say is that today's effort made me believe that team, family, and pure understanding is key to not just today but life. It’s not about me, as I feel broken, but what my club did today was pick me up. Most stayed, still work to do but I’m proud of everyone of my players, new and returning, the trophy wasn’t actually important to me but just getting ppl together and supporting each other. I’m very proud. #teampinewood .

8 days’ notice. Can you imagine what this guy would do with a full camp? Like many others, we believe Jordan won that fight, but the judges saw it differently that day. Regardless, Jordan proved he belongs in the UFC, and he’s here to stay.
Mark our words: with a full camp, Jordan will be a huge problem for anyone in the lightweight division.

I have posted a number of videos which shows Kumo in victory but here is one where I lost all 4 contests. I found the tape in the loft and watching it was surreal. My memory of this contest is no more. It was like watching it for the first time. I cannot believe where the years gone. This was the brilliant Ipswich Senior Open in 1991. Yes I got my backside handed to me 4 times that day but within 10 years I would return with many a player that did not. Wonderful days, wonderful competition.

And at Fighting Fitness Judo, we believe the same!
Over the last few months, we have delivered free classes for local groups and schools in our community, and we are happy to share with you that we will now be actively raising money for charity!

Very proud of Pudsey Judo Club this weekend.
We may not be the biggest or the best but we genuinely believe Judo is for everyone - we know we are biased and proud of our sport, but everyone needs judo in their life! It teaches you so many life lessons.
It doesn’t matter about the win / loss column as you learn so much about yourself along the way. …. PLUS irrespective of your level or goals, here at Pudsey JC we know you are all on your own individual judo journey.
