Congratulations to Dan Barton for putting on a great performance at the 2021 British Judo Championship held in EIS Sheffield at the weekend. Dan won a well-earned silver medal in the pre-cadet boys under 66kg.

2020 British School Championships was held at EIS Sheffield over two days with 650 competitors entering.
On day one Oakley James took Bronze for his debut at the Championship in a strongly contested group. Winning two of his four matches with maximum points (Ippon) and securing 3rd place.
Hamish Rankin was competing on day two in the under 38kilo category, after coming back from a dislocated elbow in a competition in September. Hamish looked slightly nervous in his opening match, but quickly settled down and threw his opponent in just over a minute. He looked in control for the next thre

In our Zoom classes we have been exploring the relationship between judo training and other sports. We have learnt how arm wrestlers use strategy to out play their opponent, as we do in judo.
Keep practicing your arm wrestling knowledge in order to improve your technique, as well as strengthen your fingers, wrists and forearms. 💪

Covid restrictions have now ended at the club and from Thursday 22nd July all sessions will return to normal 🙌

Ben started Judo at Stroud when he was 6 years old. Last Sunday, now aged 21, he traveled to Cardiff Sofia Gardens to compete for his 1st Dan.
