Big shout out to the G&P Ryan Ashton on representing the Sussex dan grade team at the Southern Area intercounties this weekend. Ryan fought in the +100kg slot as a part of a team made up of some of Sussex’s strongest judoka, they all fought hard, and came away won gold! Fantastic effort to everyone involved. Looking forward to seeing the 18 mighty dragons fighting for team Sussex and Rhian fighting for team Hampshire at the intercounties on Sunday.

A successful day for #jerseyjudo🇯🇪🥋 at the #hampshireclosed
Both Carmen and Lucas won gold and earned their place in the squad for the #intercounties next month.
Ryan fought well and narrowly missed out on the semi finals by finishing 3rd in his pool at his first UK competition since he recently only took up the sport.
Our #judoka were ably coached Matside by Marie while Bill & Mike honed their refereeing skills.
As always, a massive thanks to the organisers, officials, parents, coaches, players and volunteers.
