A fabulous day for our little judo club at the Intercounties team competition representing Sussex yesterday! ❤️
Well done to Ralphie, Emmy & Grace who took home a Silver Medal in the lightweight Junior team 🥈 & Amelija, who took home a Gold Medal in the heavyweight Junior team 🥇
Coach Sophie stepped out of retirement (12 years since her last competition!) to join Ruby in the Senior Team, who also took a fantastic Gold! 🥇🏆

Big well done to Ruby taking a Silver Medal at the Sussex Trials today against an extremely tough opponent. Was never going to be an easy task, taking on a 2nd Dan black belt, but Ruby gave it her all and we are very proud of her 🤎

Another fantastic event for our young judoka at Ashington today.
Alex started the day in fine form, winning all his fights to take a GOLD medal 🥇 Thank you to Dave for coaching him.
In the afternoon it was the girls’ turn and they were up against some tough fighters:
Group 1
Grace - Gold 🥇
Reece - Bronze 🥉
Group 2
Holly - Bronze 🥉
Group 3
Amelija - Bronze 🥉
Willow - Bronze 🥉
But the day was not over yet! A girl from another club had been accidentally missed off the competition sheet so Willow, Holly & Amelija stayed on for some extra contests and came away with another set of bronze medals

Ralphie produced some stunning judo, winning 4 fights to take a brilliant Gold in an extremely tough -30kg category 🥇
The girls had 3 fights each in the -40kg category, with Amelija taking a fantastic Silver 🥈 and Willow a hard-fought Bronze 🥉
Well done also to Ruby for making her debut in the coaching chair for the girls! 🙌🏼
