Outstanding effort from the boys! Some great judo, some cracking ippon wins, and some fantastic experience gained at this well run event. A silver medal each builds beautifully on Pete and Grahams bronze medals that they won at the Sussex Trials earlier in the year. Very pleased to see such positive progression.

This weekend, our DiSE players return for the penultimate camp of this academic year. We also look forward to welcoming a team set to visit from Sussex County Judo.

We would like to invite any players (aged 14+, U21 & Seniors) interested in joining us.

Two sessions will take place each day:

Saturday - 11:30 (randori) & 16:00 (technical)

Sunday - 11:00 (technical) & 15:00 (randori)

On Saturday Westerleigh held an open day for clubs in Sussex!

Hi team, as some will already know one of our cadet boys William Radford was involved in a car accident on Monday afternoon. Sadly it was a fatal accident and I am so sorry to say that our fabulous Will passed away peacefully yesterday surrounded by his family.

Will was a superb young man kind, funny and he loved his judo. He was training hard and just getting into the next level of competing taking his 1st national level medal in Northern Ireland just a few weeks ago and taking silver at the Sussex trials in April. Will was a familiar face to all on our senior and cadet sessions, training 4

As if there was any doubt this would happen! 🤣❤️ An absolutely fantastic performance from Max up at Dartford today. Five wins, five ippons, line up completed in well under a minute, and finishing on 130 points. Let’s hear it for the big old maki komi enthusiast! 🙌🏽
Since coming back to judo last year as a junior green belt, Max has been amassing the spicy achievements: working through the Kyu grades, three gold medals 🥇🥇🥇 including the 2024 Sussex title at 90kg 🥇🥋, and now a black belt via winning a line up.

Ryan fought in the +100kg slot as a part of a team made up of some of Sussex’s strongest judoka, they all fought hard, and came away won gold! Fantastic effort to everyone involved.
