After an amazing 1st half of the year, with all of our senior members demonstrating huge advances in their technical progression and gathering great success in compertion, Northampton Judo Club held their 1st belt grading ceremony of 2024
Congratulations to our team who have successfully graded up at the 1st half of our summer grading

Charles & Constantin 1st Kyu (brown)
Steve 1st dan (black), who is also now a level 1 BJA coach

An amazing achievement, which he completed his 3-man line-up in just over 2 minutes
The path to Black Belt in Judo is a transformative journey that goes beyond physical techniques. It encompasses character development, leadership, and a profound connection to the art. Achieving this rank is not easy at all. At the very least, a judo black belt is a personal milestone from all the hard work you have put into the sport.

Brilliant day at the club yesterday with over 30 Dan grades on the mat. A coaching course and revalidation event hosted by Neil Adams and ably assisted by his wife Nikki. Cannot forget ex international and National A referee Howard Clark-Melville who was there to help out and explain the difference in rule changes between the IJF and BJA. Neil showed a variety of situations that can and do arise when coaches are not aware of the rules.  big, thank you to Neil, Nikki and Howard.
