Congratulations to Ella on completion of her black belt.
We are so proud of Ella, she has demonstrated that if you want something work hard and make it happen. We remember her age 6 telling us she would get her black belt. 11 years later she achieved her goal !
Ella has had a great journey along the way, with British schools and Kent medals through to REDs selection and now as a junior is on the senior ranking list. Her determination and no quit attitude has been inspiring. Ella plans to continue this journey into university and beyond. Well done Ella !

The club has been busy grading the players congratulations to each group.
Red belts were fantastic and gave a great demonstration of the syllabus.
The yellow belt group, well done in showing the required techniques competently.
Good luck to the Orange and green belt group who are next !!

Congratulations to Matty who took a bronze medal whilst representing GB in the Montreal Pan American Open on Sunday. We are so very proud of him!
As well as the fantastic medal he also gained GB and world ranking points in addition to adding to his 5th Dan points card. We will add video footage soon.

Before the break for the Holidays we enjoyed an event practising our competition skills. Here are a couple of our mini judo players who had fun on the day.
We currently have spaces in the mini judo classes for ages 5, 6 and 7. See info below.
Two free trial lessons in our mini judo classes for 5, 6 and 7 year olds.
In our Nork (Banstead) branch. Class activity's are age appropriate.
Please message for further info.
Learn new skills including throwing and holding.
Have fun in our mini judo classes.

Earlier this month we hosted our first BJA level 1 invitation event. This was for red belts with little contest experience. Lots of children entered and lots of medals won. All in all a good experience for everyone.

Congratulations to Romain (silver) and Ella (bronze) for a fantastic performance at the British School Champs' in the Junior division. They had some incredible contests. We are so proud of them in what will be their final Schools event. Cant wait to see what they can do in the future.. We are editing the footage for you and will publish soon.

Did you watch or attend the Common Wealth Games in Birmingham ! British judo achieved 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 10 Bronze medals.
Special mention and congratulations to Jamal Petgrave who took Gold, Jamal is from our sister club in Carshalton . Also to Gemma Howell who took silver and had come to visit and run a master class for us back in Oct 2021.

SPACES for school years R and 1 are available. Try the Olympic Sport of Judo
There are currently spaces in the younger classes for ages 5/6-year-olds starting Saturday 3rd Sept 9am -10am.
There are 3 spaces in our Y7-9 class, Mondays and Thursdays 6.45-7.45
Only a couple of spaces remain in some of our other classes.
We would love to offer 2 FREE trial lessons (subject to availability). We are fully registered with the National Governing Body and run the teams for Reigate and Banstead and Epsom and Ewell Councils in the Surrey Youth Games. Contact westcroftjudonorkgmail.com or message us h
