The club are delighted to re-sign Ryan Clarke!

After leaving the club last summer to join Buckfastleigh, Clarky has decided to return to the club!

An excellent midfielder, with a massive work rate! Clarky’s composure on ball and passing ability really strengthens our midfield, he’s also got a goal or 10 in him as well!

Having previously won the Devon & Exeter Prem with Lapford, Clarkys experience will really help the club to attempt promotion back to the Prem at the first time of asking!

With the school summer holiday fast approaching we wanted to share our revised summer Saturday session times.

From Saturday 27th July to Saturday 24th August,

All juniors are to attend at 10am.
All seniors are to attend at 11am.

Please note there will be no Judo on Saturday 31st august as the sports centre have asked us to close for the hop festival.

Normal sessions will resume on Saturday 7th September.

If you are, did you know, the International Olympic Committee has 206 National Olympic Committees spread across 5 continents, and 122 of those nations will be represented in the judo event, that’s 60%, showing just how far judo has spread across the world 😁

And did you also know that 28 of the flag bearers named so far (23% of all the nations flag bearers) will be judoka 😊 How fantastic is that for our amazing sport 😁😊🥋

1. What inspired you to get involved with judo?

When I was a child, my mum decided to take my older brother and me to a local judo club because we were constantly fighting at home. She hoped it would help channel our energy in a more positive direction.

Last session before the summer break and we have a record 34 new grades after two weeks of gradings and relentless practice throughout the year. Always good to see some more colours and stripes on the mats. Great work all.

We thought you might like to look back at some of the highlights from the mini club championships we held just before the summer break. We were so proud of everyone that took part and how well they competed and what excellent sportsmanship they all showed 😊🥋 and we were very grateful for all the help our adults gave in order to help run the event 😁👍 thank you 😊

Some will remember our visit from Neil Adams. He is now recognised as the voice of judo and you will hear his commentary on the Olympic judo.

The programme runs from 5 locations within England and will offer the opportunity for fighters to increase their weekly training volume while working towards a vocational qualification that is now recognised by UCAS. DISE is designed to support and complement a fighters club and squad training.

Judo is back this coming Tuesday @ Moray Sports Centre so if you are looking to keep that summer feeling going bring yourself along and give judo a throw! #injudowetrust
