Choosing the right platform for a judo club's online presence is crucial for its growth and community engagement. While Facebook is a popular and versatile social network, Judo Connect offers specific advantages tailored to the needs and aspirations of judo clubs. Here are three main reasons why Judo Connect is a better choice for a judo club compared to using Facebook as their primary social network:

We're wishing the best of luck to Aerospace Engineering alumni, Oli Wilkes, who is competing in the Men's Rowing Four Final in the Olympics for Great Britain this morning! 👏

Oli began his rowing journey during his time with us in 2014 whilst in his second year. Prior to this, Oli was a swimmer, and pre-university competed in a national championship relay team, this gave him his first insight into elite sport. Whilst studying with us, Oli attended a rowing taster in his first year, and decided to join the team in his second year.

After completing his studies with us, Oli went on to Edinburgh

Check out Kirsty’s blog about her refereeing journey; from stepping on the mat at three years old at EdinburghJudo, to competing and refereeing where she built confidence, resilience and had lots of fun along the way.

In her own words, Kirsty Wilson reflects on her unexpected journey from judo competitor to referee, highlighting the personal and competitive benefits of officiating in judo. My judo journey began when I was just three years old. Little did my parents or I know that 13 years later I would be so invo...

⛩️🥋Festival of Judo on Sunday 9th June🥋⛩️

EdinburghJudo’s Festival of Judo featured inter-club randori and mini-matches for young judoka to experience a taste of competition in a relaxed and supportive environment.

It was a very busy day, with over 140 kids from 9 different clubs/schools on the mat across two sessions, all developing their skills and having fun together. There was great attitude and enthusiasm on display by all during the mini-matches and our club mascot, Obi the Highland Cow, came to meet everyone afterwards too 🐮👋

Congratulations to everyone that took part 💪

Yesterday was Reece Calder’s final evening as our Junior Development Coach at EdinburghJudo. Reece has been with us for many years and will be greatly missed.

Reece’s journey with judo began 24 years ago when he first entered George Kerr’s Edinburgh Club on Hillside Crescent. Since Billy Cusack took over in 2004 (when EdinburghJudo was born), Reece has been a constant figure in our club as a member, player, coach and the organiser of numerous social events.

As a player, Reece was Scottish Champion, a British medallist and a British team member on several occasions. He also won internationa

Kosei, whose home club is Sport Judo in Virginia, has spent the last 3 weeks training with both club members and the national team at Ratho. He came to train with Billy and the team as recommended by his coach, Maurice Allan.

Beyond taking part in 1-2 training sessions a day, Kosei has been exploring Edinburgh, enjoying social events and even fitting in a game of football with the team.

Kosei is a great person who gets along with everyone and he has fit in well with the group. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed having him here and he’s alway

Some of our Edinburgh Judo players hit the mats this weekend at Saturday’s Granite City Grand Prix in Aberdeen.

It was Szymon’s first competition and he did a great job throughout the day. No medal this time, but a good performance to kick off the beginning of his competitive journey.

For the others there were wins, losses and lots of opportunities to learn and grow. There’s always something positive to take away from a tournament; whether the result is what you hoped for or not. How you win, how you lose and how you move forward are what’s key!

Congratulations to EdinburghJudo’s newest 1st Dan, Finn T 🎉

Finn received the final points required for his black belt back in March and successfully completed his theory exam down in South Shields at the weekend.

Finn’s consistency and increased commitment to training over the last year has shown itself through his recent results in competition and now in achieving his black belt. We look forward to seeing Finn continue to work hard on the mat, in the gym and putting in the time to develop his judo further as a 1st Dan - the real work starts now!

Well done Finn! 🤜💥🤛
