Professor Schmidt delivered a fascinating talk on the universe, and the struggles between dark matter and dark energy.

We are delighted to share that Surrey has been awarded a Collaborative Award for teaching Excellence (CATE) at the Advance HE Teaching Excellence Awards. In addition, Dr Alireza Behnejad has been named a National Teaching Fellow (NTF).

Thanks to our University Hackathon17 team, led by Dr Shelini Surendran and Kat Mack, Surrey has won a CATE award three years running.

Dr Behnejad, Associate Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, is an advocate of tactile, or ‘hands-on’ approaches in structural engineering education. Alireza is now Surrey's first National Teaching Fellow from our Facu

My memory of this contest is no more. It was like watching it for the first time. I cannot believe where the years gone. This was the brilliant Ipswich Senior Open in 1991. Yes I got my backside handed to me 4 times that day but within 10 years I would return with many a player that did not. Wonderful days, wonderful competition.
