I would like to thank my judo family for the amazing send off and wonderful gifts. It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to teach such amazing people.
My dad , John, started the club 50 years ago, I have taught there for 40 years and Jem over 20.
It has been full of hard work , sweat , tears, elation and laughs . Jem and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful judo family. It’s been an honour to be part of your judo journey. The memories we will keep are so special. We would also like to thank the fabulous coaches who have supported us ,giving their time up for the love of the spor

Dear Judoka and Parents,
Unfortunately, we now need to move to some sad news. After 50 years of this club developing our young (and not so young) ludoka, many of whom have gone on to represent the club at a high level, it is time that unfortunately we are going to have to 'close our doors". With new work and family commitments across our committee, we are not in a position whereby we are able to pledge the required time and resource into keeping the club going from strength to strength. In addition to the Wednesday sessions, there are other requirements that as a committee we need to adhere t

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of Mr John Dearden (90), last night (11th February 2024) at home surrounded by family
Friend, Coach, Ref, Mentor and Legend of the Eastern regional judo❤️❤️. Rest in peace 🙏🕊️
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

Mr John Dearden’s funeral is on the 7th March, 11am at the Peterborough Crematorium, North Bretton, Mowbray Road, Peterborough, PE6 7JE.
Then on to the Bluebell, 10, High Street, Glinton, PE6 7LS
Family flowers, donations to the British Heart Foundation.

In 1974 a crack Judo Player
Was sent to the Cresset by a military court
for a crime he didn't commit.
Having spent years training very successful judokas.
Moved to Bretton Woods and watched the demolition of his dojo. (Replaced by a supermarket)
He was transferred to the 'Thomas Deacon'.........
This man promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade,
To the Hampton area of Peterborough.
Today, still wanted by some,
He survives as a judoka of fortune.
