A busy week or so of competitions and hard grafting was finished off nicely with lots of new coloured belts on the mat. Our grading weekend, and after a few extra grades given out, totaled 67 new U8, Mon and Kyu grades awarded across all our classes.
Lots of new beginners have started recently, so looking forward to bringing through the next generation of Wirral Judoka.
Keep up the great work everyone. 😊🥋💪

A great big well done to Sharon who had 6 tough fights against higher grades. No points today, but she is getting better every time she steps on the mat. The points will come and the new belt with it.

A grueling long weekend at the Wirral Judo Club Summer Camp in the Welsh hills of Llangollen.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Everyone worked so hard, I think we nearly broke a few. 😁🥋💪
There was blood, tears and a few birthdays to celebrate, with extra hill climbs, and some amazing judo with a bit of fun thrown in to the mix.
Thanks to all who came along and put themselves through Hell, willingly, most of the time.
A huge thanks to Caz and Dave for allowing us to use their facilities, Chelle, for her wonderful cooking and keeping everyone going 🍔🍕🥪🌮🍳🎂, and to all the coaches who nearly worked as hard as fighters.😎

Our first, and the BJA's first, 0.5 level, 'Introduction to Competition' event.
We were proud to host this trial Competition and U8 festival and it all went without a hitch.
An amazing day of judo, developing young fighters, referees, table officials and coaches of the future.
We are looking forward to the next one, probably around the end of September. Watch this space.
Thanks to all those who came along to support the event and all our many helpers and parents, without you these things would not happen. 😊👏🥋💪🥇

A great evening at 'Chelle's Kitchen' with our 'Kids Quiz, Games and Karaoke' evening. Lots of fun, and American Diner style, food. We raised a fair amount for our fundraising pot, to help our fighters go places.

Another great day for the club at the DNA North Lancashire Open hosted by Craven Judo Academy.
Thanks for a well run day Danny!
I have pinched a few photos of our guys as I didn't get much of a chance to take many myself. Sorry if I have missed anyone.
🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇Lewis R, Amber x 2, Daisy, Josh, Jake and Fin who also gained 50 points taking him to the magic 100 points to qualify for his Dan grade! I think this makes Fin the quickest member of our club to gain his black belt and also the youngest, at 14. He can't officially wear his new grade until he is 15 and been a 1st Kyu for 6 months, which

We will be running a junior training camp, see below, on the 25th/26th May. Anyone wanting to send their kids along, please message me so I can add them to the register. This is open to all our judo friends out there. 😁🥋💪

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

Day 2 at the Northern Ireland Open.
Another busy day and another medal haul with some of our fighters fighting above their usual weight group and most fighting above their usual age group.
🥇Fin had an amazing day, fighting as a 1st year cadet in the junior age group. Great judo all day and then pipping his club mate, Jack, in the final on penalties. Also picking up another 30 points towards his 1st Dan. Shame he lost his points card...🙄😂🤣👏
🥈🥈Jack, silver in juniors, who medalled in all 3 age groups that he entered! And Ruby.
🥉🥉🥉🥉🥉Tom (SKK), Imogen, Julia, Jack (seniors), Ruby (seniors).
