With colder nights drawing in a good warmup with some stretching and breakfalls was essential for the junior session. This was followed again by some cartwheels which are slowly improving. The first part of the session saw the juniors working on gripping techniques (Kumi kata), how to move their hands around an opponent’s jacket whilst maintaining some control and not just letting go. They started out in a static position which, after a few minutes, was progressed to changing grips during movement. Then they moved on to Randori and Newaza changes and it was really good the see the older junior
