A West Mercia Police officer is back from grappling with fellow competitors at the 16th USPE European Police Judo Championship in Bulgaria.

PC Rachel Hall, who is a South Worcestershire LPA patrol officer, came an impressive 7th place in the international competition which is like the ‘Olympics of Police Sport’.

PC Hall, who was supported by the force’s Sports Fund, faced a tough draw in the USPE (Union Sportive Des Polices D’Europe) contest.

However, the 25-year-old’s high-ranking finish is testament to the hard work and commitment she has given to the

A big well done and thank you to all the Samurai and other referee's that helped this weekend. Thank you to a the table officials, contest management and more. Thanks you to Matt and Ali for coaching, Dave, Becky and Deanna for first aiding. Thank you to Ab for being the photographer over the weekend. Also big thank you to Chris, his wife and daughter for helping in the kitchen, keeping everything running.

Samurai Judo Club regret to announce that the dan grading due to be held on Saturday June 22nd 2024 has had to be CANCELLED due to factors beyond our control. All online entries received to date will be automatically refunded in full. Our apologies. The next grading on November 16th is still going ahead.

GB Judo S&C Coach Lauren Jackson will be attending our Female Fighters Festival on Saturday 2nd March

Lauren has a wealth of experience having joined GB Judo in 2014 working with our Olympic and Paralympic squads. Lauren is now the lead S&C coach for the Women's team and is busy preparing our team for Paris!

First in the series of players and members of the Samurai and their achievements.

Meet little Nick, he started judo at the age of 5 and worked his way up competing at club competitions, area competitions, national competitions then onto international competitions.

Nick is also a junior referee.

Based on his performance in these competitions and winning a Bronze medal at the English closed last year, at the age of 12, he was invited to the England Development Squad.

Nick has said ‘I was over the moon when I got into the EDS, it’s given me the opportunity to compete internationally and le
