Great result for Jacob today, Winning Gold at Yamato with straight Ippon wins. He demonstrated some great transitions to groundwork. Excellent work well done.

A very busy night at Mercia, with all students working hard on technical judo getting ready for there next grading.
Our trophy winners tonight are Abi, Talia, Henry and Alex who all produced some excellent judo, earning themselves a point each towards the Annual Achievement Award.

Our juniors tonight were working on their grading syllabus getting ready for a November grading. Emphasis on Morote Seio Nage, Ko Uchi Gari into Hon Kesa Gatame and finishing with throw to throw Randori.
Tonight’s trophies went to Joe and Emilia who both received a point each towards the Annual Achievement Award for their excellent work.

Congratulations to one of our own, Greg Lewis, who has been awarded his 3rd Dan by Stuart Otani acting president of the BJC.
It was tonight presented to Greg by Sensei Tony Underwood 7th Dan, in the presence of the Midland Area ATO Sensei Ron Knapper 5th Dan, and members of Mercia Judokwai and Warwick University Judo Club.

Ever thought of having a go at the Olympic sport of Judo? We are open to all ages over 5 (no upper limit!!). Kids meet on Tuesday's and Fridays' from 7pm until 8:30 and seniors from 7pm(ish) until 8:50(ish). It's great fun, and superb excercise and we are one big family! The kids will love it!! See less

Not long now. We start back on 2nd January 2024. Adults, are you looking for a challenge for the New Year? What better than to have a go at our 'Yellow belt challenge'? Fitness. Fun. Focus. For one fee, you get a judogi (uniform), provisional license, training and the opportunity to get your yellow belt within three months. All you have to provide is the effort. Come along and have a look, have a chat, have a go. 2/1/2024 onwards. Every Friday and Tuesday we are open - you choose how often you want to come along and commit.
