Lovely alternative juji gatame/ arm bar in jujitsu this affermoon.
Great bjt of detail at thecend with the use of simon's left shin into Martin's back to finish it off. It looks subtle but it feels brutal. Thank you Simon Tutton.
Good for judo and jujitsu.

Final post from today. Technically this was from the BJJ after the judo. Its demo'd by Simon Tutton. However as well as being good for BJJ it's a great entry to a judo okuru-eri-jimi.
Only one tiny variation required for judo rules (nothing inside the sleeve). Kind of proves the value of cross training...
Thank you Simon Tutton.

Thursday night BJJ with Vernon, it was a bit like a sauna in there even with the door open. Certainly a good sweat and a couple of great drills before some sparing to finish us off. It's a shame this little clip did not catch more or Vernon and Pete.

New crash mats out of their wrapping today.
They didn't look too thick and there was a bit of grumbling with the big guys / older players wanting to use the old super thick ones.
It worked out OK though, and we could link them together in a line too so we had 5 lines not three.
Today it was a little combination to christen them with a change of direction technique. Ippon eri seoi nage to o soto gari.

Little bit of nage komi onto the crash mats. Being able to link them together in a line does give a bit more space too which was handy today.

A little video of Simon Tutton (black gi) who is one of the BJJ instructors at a recent BJJ competetion.
A nice little yoko tome nage to start with, but Simon was giving away a fair bit of weight and after a couple of resets unfortunately Simon was caught with a strangle. So I would suggest you just watch the first 30 seconds......... :-)

BJJ tonight with Vernon. If you don't notice anything different in picture 1 then picture 2 makes it a bit more obvious......

A decent turnout on a sweaty day but a record for the post judo and bjj banter afterwards in the cafe. Jimmy James had to go and as I took the pic, that makes 15 of us in Costa. Even too big for the big table....
