A lovely day at bath university for the western area competition today!
I huge well done to everyone at Swindon that competed. We have seen some amazing fighting today and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone.
Simon, Timon, Elizabeth and Tomaz started the day with two amazing fights each, working very hard and holding their own!
Then Layla fought and brought home a bronze!
Hannah won two of her fights and got a bronze after having to re-fight for it!

Unfortunately there will be no Judo on Monday 26th August (Bank Holiday) as we do not have access to the hall. Our sessions on Wednesday 28th and Friday 30th August will go ahead as normal.

Artem fought fantastic today 7 fights 5 wins by ippon the two he lost he just ran out steam lack of Mat fitness still a great result finishing 5th just losing for bronze in golden score not bad considering he’s only been back to judo a few months after 2 years off the mat

Day 2 at Sheffield first up was Layla who fought really well just lost for bronze every fight was a close contest bit unlucky not to be on the podium today
Thomasz next up had some really good battles a much improved performance showing great determination finishing in a respectable 9th place
Last up was Alicja who was in a very tough group she put in a fantastic effort but unfortunately didn’t progress out of her pool
Everyone fought there socks off this weekend sjc are proud of you all back at it in the club tomorrow keep going guys improving all the time

A good day at Kidderminster for Swindon’s best father and son duo, both coming home with matching bronzes at their first comp!
Neil started the day off with a lovely hold down then proceeded to throw a lovely ippon.
Ollie held his own with a group of much older men and managed to escape multiple armlocks and hold downs.
A big well done to both of them!
