Open mat at stowmarket judo club tonight. Main hall at stowmarket leisure centre.1800-2000 if you have never given judo a go before come along is you haven't been for ages we would love to see you back . All ages and abilities welcome.hope to see you there.

Couple of entrants in last Sunday's east Anglian fours competition at Thetford. A bronze for Jon and silver for Callum. Jon also entered the Dan grading event and came away with 60 points towards his black belt A return also to competition for Wayne .well done to you all and Wayne says stop f...... grinning during your fights Callum lol

Just want to say a huge well done to Jon stepping up 1st kyu for his first events - taking 20 points and a bronze in the competition following up with a well deserved 40 in the grading.... Equates to 60 points towards his 1st Dan.... Very proud of this young man -
Callum also stepped into the adult level of judo being only 16, he also should be extremely proud of his achievement in the competition by coming away with a silver medal.
As a coach these two young men are the reason why us coaches give our time every week, extremely proud to see them develop over the years and they still have

Last week was a double whammy for one family.Both big Jon and Boy Jon obtained their brown belts .well done to both of them . Onwards and upwards towards your first Dan now .

For me there are three highlights out of a cracking day for Stowmarket Judo Club (S.J.C)
First is Fraser , his first competition and a very unsure young man went onto the mat for the first time , he didnt win his match but he went back again and again , when the medal giving was going on we could see what level his opponents were , red,yellow and even a green , you did very well and hope to see you do loads more comps ,well done sir.
the 2ed and 3ed highlight are photos of a couple of players faces as they came off the mat and got their medals , the smile says it all ,
