Well done to Roberts and Michael today competing at the Judo Scotland National Kyu and Dan grading hosted at our club.
Roberts Bickovs completed his line up for 1st Dan and now only has his theory to complete.
Michael Duff gained another 20 points towards his 2nd Dan.
We hope everyone had a great day and got some points or experience to take away. We will post more photos from throughout the day during next week.

We will be taking our usual 2 week summer break between the 1st July and 15th July. Our last class before the break will be on Saturday 29th June and classes will start back Monday 15th July.
After we return from the 2 week break we will be running all classes as normal except the Friday Junior class which will be off after the break until the schools go back from the summer holidays.

On the 9th of June seven of our coaches and senior members will be running the Roon The Toon 10K in Kilmarnock to raise money for The Ayrshire Hospice. Any donations will be greatly appreciated by this amazing local charity who provide support to people at what can be a very difficult time.
Last year it cost £7.9 million to run all the hospices services with over £4.6 million of this raised by voluntary donations.

Day 1 at the Gathering 2023
Starting off with a brief presentation on the history of Judo taken by Dr Mike Callan followed by two great sessions by MASASHI EBINUMA and KANA EBINUMA then another two hours by MASASHI EBINUMA and SHOHEI ONO and some Randori to finish the day off. Now off out to Largs for a dinner and entertainment. Looking forward to Day 2!

A wet day heading back from Inverness we still managed to take in some of the sights on the way home although Ben Nevis was in hiding ⛰️

The river level has gone back down over the weekend and the car park is no longer flooded so we look forward to seeing everyone back at the club tonight for our usual sessions!

Well Done to our seniors who were competing on Sunday at the Scottish Student Kyu Grade competition in Saint Andrew’s. Scott and Willie fought well in their first competition against some tough opponents. Bradley also at his first competition won Bronze 🥉after winning 3 out of 4 contests in a large group. Gold 🥇for Roberts winning all his contests with some great techniques!

Just over a week to go until our club competition on the 2nd of December! There is still time to sign up by completing the registration form sent by email from the club. The competition is open to club members only. We will be running a raffle and other games with chances to win prizes throughout the day. Any bottles or small prizes for the raffle will be greatly appreciated! We are looking forward to seeing everyone for a fun day of Judo at the club.

Amazing effort from our Juniors competing at Keizoku in Motherwell today! It was a great day with a fun relaxed competition setting and Judo specific games and challenges throughout the day allowing the kids to gain experience before progressing to higher level competitions!

Happy 80th Birthday to William Gilroy our Chairman and coach! 🎉🎂 Willie is an inspiration to everyone at the club always keen to help out and get involved with the running of the club. From being on the mat coaching to being on the roof doing general maintenance and everything in-between. He is also a great friend to many members and coaches and always on hand with good advice. We hope you have had a great day!

We are open and the club competition is still on today!❄️☃️ Please be careful when heading down to the club main roads have been gritted. New Mill Road at the club entrance is still covered in snow so please drive slowly in the car park.

Thank you to everyone who came to the club competition today! It was a great day. All the photos from throughout the day will be emailed out to members some time next week. Our Junior members also received their grading certificates and new belts.
