A very big thank you to everyone who assisted this weekend with the Granite City Grand Prix. To Ultimate Judo and Aberdeen Judo Club for the loan of the additional mats. To all of the volunteers, competitors, spectators, coaches and JudoScotland who attended the event, also our club members and those from Ultimate and Aberdeen who turned out to help with the mat moving and laying. But a particularly huge thank you to our family members who helped all weekend with driving the vans, shifting mats, laying mats and volunteering in different guises we really couldn’t have done it without you all!

We have supported and continue to support the Community Shed in Aboyne and they have asked for our support –
They have applied for funding for battery back up at the Community shed, but this funding will be allocated to the groups which receive the most votes of support from their community!
Therefore we are all being asked to go to the below website and vote for your 5 favourite projects to receive funding – please ensure that you do include the Aboyne Community Shed with these 5 projects 😊

Listen here to our good friend and fellow judo coach Gordon Mccathie from Ultimate Judo as he speaks about the life skills that martial arts (judo) can bring to your life particularly at a young age. The youngsters may not appreciate of understand this when they are there every week, but in later life they may see how it benefitted them. As Gordon says, a ‘lightbulb moment’.
Well done Gordon
